Maybe that 24 hour hike is even better than my hike. I could stand to see more "seanery" like that .

There is a great climb I like to do. Its' called "hill climb 2" on the stairmaster. It's at the U of O rec center in front of the elipticals and behind the treadmills. The footing is always good and there are no downhill sections.

Yes DFA, When your a crack-whore like me you loose track of those things in life that are really important like: -maintaining your top 3 position on the # of posts list -spraying any new posters into oblivion with ridicule and derogatory remarks -continuing the epic bolting saga -keeping all six avatars around -working -relationships with non-climbers

. . . some of us had spring break last week. Contemplating staying home - sleeping in, watching 24hr war coverage, breathing in loads of green smoke and munching on doritos vs. Going to the Utah desert I opted for the ladder. -Aide ladder that is. Teamed up with some fellow students and climbed the Titan. Its not as bad as the stories and actually a pretty fun route in a beautiful place. Contemplating rain I then headed to the "crack-house" where I proceeded to transform my hands into bloody pulps in the never-ending roof crack never more than 6ft from the ground. After getting my whoopin there I met up with some friends from Ohio (yes there are climbers from the midwest) and we did Jah-Man on the sis superior. Finally, we headed to Indian Creek where I proceeded to get more whoopins but managed to crank out some harder cracks and even put up a nice new .10-.11 route on an obscure will that no one will ever climb. Lots of the full-timers were out. I saw Potter and Davis (both with their hands taped) and several other people you read about in the mags. The weather was a little on the cold side and one evening a wind storm blew away at least three tents. Overall it was a great time and I'll be headed there next year for another round of whoopins.

Its amazing what you can do with those cut and paste photo programs these days skiable terrain doesn't have to be a slog...

I think tex was being a little sarcastic. He really knows that Jeff has some cool routes and there are other "good" mountains in Orygon. The sisters supposedly have some fun routes and even some of difficulty but I hesitate to call them great peaks. Tex probably feels that way because he constantly hears about wankers slogging up them for some "good turns". I guess its just what your after. Oregon does have alot to offer and only now have begun to exhaust its supply of famous lines and routes. That is why I started this post, cause I know there are more gems out there awaiting my hands for jamming. PS Wayne I would hardly say that the rabbit ears and those other gorge "classics" are really spectacular climbs. Fun, IMHO nothing to compare to the rock and mtns up in wash and Druland.

texplorer replied to skyclimb's topic in Climber's Board
I would personally buy the selected climbs book but OHigh is great for what it covers here in Orygon. -

Dru probably has sk's bike I took up to canada this summer. How else could Dru support his climber/sprayer lifestyle.

I am looking for that "tent game" pigout. If any of you know where to buy it I would like to know. It consists of a small box containing two "pig dice".

Oregon is much more than that. We have one cool mountain, a sporto-destination, and of course lots of choss.

friends, cc.comers, tradmen, Lend me your gear, I come bury sport climbing not to praise it, The bolting men do lives after them, their good is often only in the gym So let it be with sportos For they are all, all honorable men

I think its at 7:30 in the Memorial Union Ballroom at OSU. Admission is FREE. To bad all those suckas had to pay up in Portland.

Any of you heading to see Fred's slideshow at OSU tonight? Word has it that the Texplorer and his ropegun vixen will be attending.

I climbed Sniffle Tower and almost took a 100fter when a hold broke on the last 4th class pitch. Overall a pretty shitty climb, save the 5th pitch. Outstanding view from the top however. I guess we got the pinkpoint though cause on the last tiny aid bolt someone had left some spectra cord and a biner and I used both. I am such a wanker.

Thanks for the replys everyone, I'm off to do Steins pillar tommorrow but I'll start looking at that black spider. I have heard about it but only in terms of the typical "sick, death route" blah blah blah. Sounds like and interesting and maybe even doable route. I agree there is actually a ton of stuff within a days drive from here but I was just wondering about stuff more local. I have heard good things about the Wallowas.

Greetings All I have the rest of March tied up but am looking for new and adventurous climbs to do in late spring. Any suggestions? Looking for things besides the usual slogs and typical rock climbs. Flame away.

Suffer-fest near the Coe Icefall - N. side Hood.
texplorer replied to Know_Fear's topic in Oregon Cascades
That McClure dude is sketchy! Nice job guys, in classic NW sufferfest style. -
Sometimes I get the feeling a route is taunting me. Nice TR

Nice job christian. Ridge or no, its a fun route. I am interested to hear your full trip report soon. Yokum is serious but its not a "death route" by any means.

The road to hell is paved with Shitty Spring Snow. Thanks for keeping the rock routes free.

I'm headed to Moab for the Titan, Moses, and Indian Creek cracks
