Beck Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 ...did a training run up Mount Si in My Koflachs, carrying a rack and prussiks, trying to stay on route with the GPS-hairy routefinding-and gave my Gore XCR bibs a ripping on the crux of the Haystack Viscious! My ti 4-section probe poles kept slipping, though, so, even though brought my peeps, we didn't have to activate it. what did you guys do today? [ 10-27-2002, 09:39 PM: Message edited by: Beck ] Quote
salbrecher Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Tried to get up the north peak of black tusk but got turned back/spooked at the main peak at the thought of climbing rime ice . and it was fucking cold . [ 10-27-2002, 08:08 PM: Message edited by: salbrecher ] Quote
iain Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 jaunt around beacon rock for a few climbs, ran into a pack of 3 cc.com'rs easily identified by horsecock babble (shredmaximus, sketchfest, and one other I didn't catch) then climbed with shred and MtnHigh on the Eliot in some nice wind and rain. Throw in a freezing level of 6K' and you have Quote
allison Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Shot some guns at Bud cans on a berm outside of Enumclaw. Quote

wayne Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Had a great weekend in 11worth with "Super" AlpineK and Ehmic. Pulling down many a good friction hold in the chilly fall air. Watching old man winter coming down the trail!! Quote
To_The_Top Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Climbed a mountain of paperwork at work. No freshies there. Oops sorry, thought this was the thread drift game. Beck did you see Jerry climbing in his plastics? [ 10-27-2002, 11:34 PM: Message edited by: To The Top ] Quote
MtnGoat Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 ran up to the hang glider site at the S end of Rampart at noon to fly some RC. Flew old reliable for 20 minutes in great smooth lift, then got out the new bird for it's second flight, put it through it's paces and chased some ravens around. Then the weather closed in a 1pm, so i climbed into the truck hoping it would pass, read book for 3 hours still hoping it would pass, gave up and drove home. Better than doing chores at home anyway! Cpt.Caveman Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Climbed Sherpa Peak amid snow flurries and rain. What a pile Looks like winter had hit the Stuart Range......... Quote
Rick_Sharpless Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Climbed moderate stuff at Moores Wall. Saw peak fall color below me all the way to the blue ridge in Virginia. Met a new partner for future climbs, Great day. Quote
vegetablebelay Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Four of us went in and climbed Mount Temple on Saturday and brought back Stefan's gear that was left up there. All told it was about 25 pounds of stuff we brought back. Amazing to be climbing that thing this late in the year. Quote
Necronomicon Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Sat on ass, enjoying the rain and darkness, while honing my blade to a surgical edge. Dissolved all my gear in gasoline and battery acid, as I won't be needing it anymore. Quote
Greg_W Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Hiked across the Enchantments...I saw a lake...it was cool...trail down from Asgaard is a shitty chosspile. Quote
sketchfest Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Iain, I'm guessing you were one of the 8 or so that was waiting to rap from snaggy ledge, but I don't think we were introduced, which one were you? Fun Guy and I climbed a sweet route over on the East face..."Young warriors" or something like that. 2 pitch, first was like .6 or .7 and the 2nd was nice .10a, very friable until you enter the hand/finger crack, finishing at the belay ledge on the 2nd pitch of SE corner. Quote
iain Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 I was with one other person rapping off that 10a (dunno the name but a great climb!) to the left of jill's thrill straight above the ledge. What a mess down there, but we did get some climbs in. I was the fool hanging out in a green t-shirt in october. Quote
SEF Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Soloed Observation Rock Saturday. Cloudless, cool and frosty. Saw a party of 2 climbing up the glacier around E of the N Face as I was stumbling down the talus. Quote

sketchfest Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Aaahh yes! the tee-shirt wearing, teeth chattering fellow, who was quite obviously trying to think of a happy place that was warm and sunny, while waiting for the ever growing crowd to disperse, so you could get the hell out of there. Quote
iain Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 yeah I was planning to climb more rather than hanging out for an eternity in the shade. Quote
freeclimb9 Posted October 28, 2002 Posted October 28, 2002 Dragged my kids away from the computer screen and up Mini Pinnacle on Saturday (30' of 5.5 with a 15 minute approach). We all got scared in one way, or another. It was great. Quote
