jonathan5891 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Where do I post my climbing resume? Thanks Quote
genepires Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 ????? Â no one cares. we like to think we climb too much to bother with chest beating our accomplishments but the reality is that your level of spray in spray forum is the true test of your manliness and power. Quote
genepires Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 welcome, come aboard and prepare for the slime. Quote
chris54 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 That would be a test for sure. I think you should do it. Quote
genepires Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 go ahead and post it on this thread. Nothing says "hello" like "look at what I have done!" Quote
Off_White Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Post a TR of something you've done lately in one of the regional forums, but think of it as telling us a story and showing some pictures, not establishing a resume. This isn't 8a.nu and there is no scorecard, but you can use the Partners forum to find folks to go climbing with. Be honest about your skills & objectives. Oh, and have fun, it should definitely be fun. Quote
fenderfour Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Yes, I think you should resume climbing. Quote
kevbone Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Where do I post my climbing resume? Thanks  On you own personal computer.  Or try smithrock.com..... they have a pure chestbeating forum called "repoints/onsights". Quote
Figger_Eight Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) Yes, I think you should resume climbing.  lol  I climbed off my couch, approached my fridge and on-sighted the bottle cap.  I pushed a new route around the far side of my kitchen table, with some mandatory aid moves when I had to grab my sleeping dog's collar to move him out of the way. RaisedByPikas Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 So what someone meant in your other post when they said that "your climbing resume was more important than your skin color" was when you were asking for partners on intermediate to advanced climbs on rainier you should probably tell use what you have climbed. That way people that are interested can evaluate whether they think you are up to the task or not. Of course if you have a bunch of trip reports credited to your name then it serves the same purpose. rob Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 THere's the great climb called AK-47, you should try it. Quote
Tyson.g Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 THere's the great climb called AK-47, you should try it. but only if you are pretty sure you can make it. I heard the FA party doesn't want a bunch of people projecting it. Â Quote
G-spotter Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 "So I redpointed a couple of 5.11s in the local gym, and I'm pretty sure that because of that you'll want to give me free gear. Here's my contact information." Quote
olyclimber Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I prefer to say "Climb on!". Climbing resume seems a bit too high and mighty. Quote

My five year old did her first free solo on her bike yesterday (no more training wheels). Now that's exciting! Quote
