wfinley Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Trip: Mooses Tooth - Yet another TR for H&E Date: 5/9/2010 Trip Report: Yet another H&E TR... but I live here so I can justify dealing with the crowds. [video:youtube] Gear Notes: 1. Bring those stretchy things to clip onto the faster climbers. 2. Don't accept "tea" from descending Euros... chances are the "tea" is mostly liquor. 3. Canned beer will freeze in the Alaska Range. Approach Notes: A rough 200 yards from the LZ. Quote
ivan Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 what a bizarre place to be surronded by the hordes still, reminds me why i dig on euroes Quote
ScaredSilly Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 3. Canned beer will freeze in the Alaska Range. In other words you bought low alcohol piss water swill beer. Cans of Shapiro hold much better as they are slightly higher in alcohol. Plus they're bigger!! Quote

John Frieh Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Beer is for climbers that cant nail the weather window :laf: GREAT video dude: looks like we just missed each other again this year. Quote
Stefan Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 great times. and great video!! thanks for sharing your effort in producing that video Quote
mzvarner Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Awesome video! It is great to see some logistics in Alaskan climbing. One day I will have the time, money, and skills to play with the big boys too. GREAT WORK! Quote
wfinley Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 Thanks for all the compliments! ... one note: It is great to see some logistics in Alaskan climbing. Thanks to TAT and Puryear, logistics for the classic routes in the Ruth and Kahiltna are no longer a problem. I love scouring maps and exploring places no one goes to in Alaska - but it's a treat to thumb though Puryear's book and then just fly in and knock out a route or two. Quote
Chad_A Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Very cool vid to watch, thanks for putting that up. Stoked me to try again to get to the AK Range. BTW... In other words you bought low alcohol piss water swill beer. Cans of Shapiro hold much better as they are slightly higher in alcohol. Plus they're bigger!!...beer cans ain't just for piss beer anymore. 10.5% ABV, 98 IBUs 10%ABV, 100 IBUs Suppose this would make the alpine start a little difficult, though. Quote
