RICHARD_CILLEY Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Looks like it will be the best alpine free climb in the Cascades when it gets sent.Kudos to the F.A.ers. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Quite the speculation considering you've only seen a few pictures on the internet. Quote
wayne Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I would be interested to see what Sols opinion of that would be. Hes done a few of that genre lately Quote
Blake Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 In its current mossy state, I can think of several free climbs that I'd personally rate as better. One of them is within shouting distance to the left. If it were totally clean, I think it'd be up there with some of the better ones, but a couple of the pitches aren't much to write home about. Quote
el jefe Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 my guess is that mr. cilley's opinion is based on the photo of "colchuck reality" as his specialty is hard cracks ca. 20-25 feet in length. Quote
billcoe Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Would somebody just show up with some f*ing pictures already? Quote

RICHARD_CILLEY Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 I don´t expect it will stay in it´s present mossy state.Anyway,Iĺl jump on it next summer. If anybody has pictures of better routes, lets see ´em. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 There's quite a few cracks in the Colchuck area that are just as rad and are a lot closer that haven't seen a free ascent yet despite esposure on websites such as this one. Quote
RuMR Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) Can you toprope it? Edited September 3, 2008 by RuMR Quote

thats just incorrect. there are no websites like this one. Quote
Tony_Bentley Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I like the idea that it goes clean so you just need some more cams and you've got a stellar crag. CBR could use a couple more routes though. Quote
ivan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 if CBR's gonna get turned into a crag, would somebody please machete a better path through the goddamn slide-alder!!! Quote
layton Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 you can borrow my machette, i no longer require it. it is by will alone Quote
el jefe Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 someone needs to put in a road to colchuck lake, too. the place will never take off as a cragging destination if you expect people to walk that far! Quote
DirtyHarry Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Can you toprope it? Â There's be some sick rappels (i.e. first descents) to get there to set up some badass topropes. Quote
kevino Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 someone needs to put in a road to colchuck lake, too. the place will never take off as a cragging destination if you expect people to walk that far! Â then they'll get on here and complain about people toproping it and hogging it. Quote
Tony_Bentley Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 There's be some sick rappels (i.e. first descents) to get there to set up some badass topropes. Â Actually DH.... There is some first descents. Quote
pope Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Can you toprope it? Â Nice cheap shot from another small-minded sport wanker. Pretty sure Mr. Cilley has climbed pitches you'll only dream about. I completely respect that he chooses to toprope where pricks like you would pound a line of bolts. Quote
el jefe Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 ooh, dude, watch out, big bad tradman called you a "sport wanker" and a "prick". too bad you ain't got the balls to toprope a route! Quote
