In its current mossy state, I can think of several free climbs that I'd personally rate as better. One of them is within shouting distance to the left. If it were totally clean, I think it'd be up there with some of the better ones, but a couple of the pitches aren't much to write home about.

my guess is that mr. cilley's opinion is based on the photo of "colchuck reality" as his specialty is hard cracks ca. 20-25 feet in length.

I don´t expect it will stay in it´s present mossy state.Anyway,Iĺl jump on it next summer.If anybody has pictures of better routes,lets see ´em.

There's quite a few cracks in the Colchuck area that are just as rad and are a lot closer that haven't seen a free ascent yet despite esposure on websites such as this one.

I like the idea that it goes clean so you just need some more cams and you've got a stellar crag. CBR could use a couple more routes though.

someone needs to put in a road to colchuck lake, too. the place will never take off as a cragging destination if you expect people to walk that far!
