I happen to be a sick guy fortunate enough to have excellent health care coverage. Even with really good coverage, I have spent > $10,000 out of my own pocket for health care over the last 6 months. Once again I am fortunate in that I can afford it. What are ill people in this country without good insurance and high paying jobs supposed to do? Please tell me. The U.S. health system spends a higher portion of its gross domestic product than any other country but ranks 37 out of 191 countries according to its performance, the report finds. The United Kingdom, which spends just six percent of GDP on health services, ranks 18 th . Several small countries – San Marino, Andorra, Malta and Singapore are rated close behind second- placed Italy. One of the biggest issues: no one goes without decent care in other countries and no one is going to go bankrupt because of health costs. And then falsify the reports only to forget to destroy the time coded security video of the waiting room. It's obvious that greed is the only motivation anyone would have for providing a quality service; so let's let the free market do it's work or we're all gonna die! God got private industry, and the Devil got social constructs. you would think that corporations are social constructs, but they aren't. they are humans just like you and me, altruistic and lovable to the core. for medical care, its best to let God take care of you. He can cure any malady, and if he decides its time for you to die after waiting 4 hours in ER for care, then he probably has a better plan for you in the afterworld. so anyway, you can see i've got it all figured out. let me know if you have any questions! Their comments on the socialized health care system there is a mixed bag. If we are going to emulate (and talk up how great) other socialized health care systems, we need to realistically evaluate them - not paint a one-sided, idealized view of them. The answer to your question, Dan, is that people without high-paying jobs are obviously slackers, and don't deserve insurance. This is america -- we can't spend money propping up the riff-raff! We need to reward success and penalize failure and incompetance! This is the only way that we can rise above the great unwashed masses to our rightful station. What would happen if we started taking care of the poor and lonely? Well, next thing you know, your favorite restaurant would be crowded with POOR PEOPLE, Dan. POOR PEOPLE!
