Here we are a full six months and 3500 miles after Erden thought he was going to cross the equator. Today he made it. A change in weather pattern and he jumped on it. Today he is officially in the southeren hemisphere, tommorow he starts a new record for solo ocean rowing duration.

Three cheers for my man Erden. :brew: :brew:

Are you going to provide a link or an explanation as to what or who you are talking about? Thanks!

Jeezus H Christ, 'bone! Just how fuckin' lazy are you, anyway?

A search on this board with erden in the Subject Only box, searching all forums, date range newer than 7 years, brings up 7 fucking pages of hits all the way back to 2002. From any one of those threads, you can pick up his last name, Eruc. Then...

A Google search using erden eruc nets over 40,000 hits in like, 0.04 seconds. I should think anything on the first 2 dozen pages or so should fill you in. Or do you want us to read it to you as well?

You offerred yourself up as a punching bag in another thread, but we're really getting tired of throwing you left hooks...

Oh yeah... Way to git 'er done, Erden! :tup: :tup:

There is a difference between lazy and spontaneous. I spontaneously responded to the comment above without searching for it. I guess it’s my bad……..I guess its also the bad of the poster for just assuming that everybody knows who this Erden dude is…..

Keep on punching…..it don’t hurt.

Hmmm Kevbone has been posting just less than 3.5 years. You would think in that time he would know who Erden is or at least recognise that he'd seen that name before.

Not really the sharpest stick in the pile. :/

Anyway back to the real subject. It is tied in with climbing yet different. Erden has done some rad stuff. :tup:

Waynes got the link, But, Here's another one. He started on a bike from seattle last May. After making San Fran he waited out a bit of weather and then left There early July. Just clic on the link , then near the top of the page you will find a tracker. Each of the littel dots on his route is a log in his journal. Nice reading for a journey.

And the coming wind did roar more loud,

And the sails did sigh like sedge ;

And the rain poured down from one black cloud ;

The Moon was at its edge.

The thick black cloud was cleft, and still

The Moon was at its side :

Like waters shot from some high crag,

The lightning fell with never a jag,

A river steep and wide.

  • 4 weeks later...

"We were the first that ever burst

Into that silent sea.

The ship hath been suddenly becalmed.

Down dropt the breeze, the sails dropt down,

'Twas sad as sad could be;

And we did speak only to break

The silence of the sea!

All in a hot and copper sky,

The bloody Sun, at noon,

Right up above the mast did stand,

No bigger than the Moon.

Day after day, day after day,

We stuck, nor breath nor motion;

As idle as a painted ship

Upon a painted ocean.

And the Albatross begins to be avenged.

Water, water, every where,

And all the boards did shrink;

Water, water, every where,

Nor any drop to drink."

....

"O Wedding-Guest! this soul hath been

Alone on a wide wide sea:

So lonely 'twas, that God himself

Scarce seeméd there to be.

O sweeter than the marriage-feast,

'Tis sweeter far to me,

To walk together to the kirk

With a goodly company!

To walk together to the kirk,

And all together pray,

While each to his great Father bends,

Old men, and babes, and loving friends

And youths and maidens gay!

And to teach, by his own example,

love and reverence to all things

that God made and loveth.

Farewell, farewell! but this I tell

To thee, thou Wedding-Guest!

He prayeth well, who loveth well

Both man and bird and beast.

He prayeth best, who loveth best

All things both great and small;

For the dear God who loveth us,

He made and loveth all.

The Mariner, whose eye is bright,

Whose beard with age is hoar,

Is gone : and now the Wedding-Guest

Turned from the bridegroom's door.

He went like one that hath been stunned,

And is of sense forlorn:

A sadder and a wiser man,

He rose the morrow morn."

I dug through Erdens website and couldn't come up with how longs he's been bobbing around in his dingy out there, sounds like a long F#%&ing time though!!! It can really be since last July?

When did he start the crossing?

Hi dberdinka.

With each dispatch I posted at Around-n-Over, next to the date field, I included the days at sea at the time that I posted the said dispatch.

I left Bodega Bay, CA, just up the coast from San Francisco, on the morning of July 10, 2007. CHAMPION-52 light vessel of the Philippine Frabelle Fishing Corporation came on May 17, 2008 with the intent to tow me to the mother ship PRIMROSE. PRIMROSE lifted my boat and secured it on deck. The boat is now in General Santos City, at the south end of the Mindanao island until after the typhoon season.

312 days total was spent at sea, alone except in the last day in the company of the crew of CHAMPION-52.

Cheers.

Erden.

Here is a suggestion on how to make your website better. It needs a summary in addition to the daily log. The summary would be revised from time to time and include the highlights of the voyage. It would allow newcomers to quickly come up to speed on the progress of the trip.
