Still gated @ the bridge?

It was'nt officially gated two weeks ago but a big snow berm blocked access, and there's also a landslide/avalanche about 1.5 miles up blocking the road so this might delay access for a while.

kevino, any chance one can drive by (over ) the debris flow blocking the road?

Anyone know if they plan on fixing the road this year? (Assuming that it was a slide rather than avi....)

How big is your car? Or should I say truck? A couple of the slides are pretty mellow, one is a lot bigger - I'm thinking up up to 50 degree angle up and down. Kind of like large moguls if that makes sense. There is also a tree that takes up a good 1/2 to 2/3 of the road, but its not that big. Perhaps someone else with better memory can help.

I was up there last week and parts of the road of the first mile or so were bare to the ground. But it was also dumping snow when I was leaving and haven't been back since.

It's an avi, not a slide, so it will melt out on its own. Little road repair will be required. You will not be able to drive around/over it right now, and the gate was still locked as of Thu last week, plus there's still too much snow.

It's within a week or two of melting out. Steady snow doesn't start until just before the bridge, ~1 mile before the TH. It is mountain bikeable to there. Snow in the parking lot is about 12"-18" deep. The aforementioned slide is no longer a factor. This info is from a trip I made 4/20-21.

Pretty much clear for 2 to 2.5 miles. Then its discontinuous snow until the bridge, then its just soft snow from their until the TH. It was about 1.5 feet at the bridge, couple feet at the TH. Trail to junction is nice and packed.
