JackY Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 What's your favorite meal when out over night? No yaks or Sherpa support. Quote
Dru Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Nothin Like a good chunk of horse cock, maybe a shot of olive oil. You can have some pasta with it too for balance. Quote
JackY Posted July 29, 2003 Author Posted July 29, 2003 When I go to the store I'm guessing that I can't just say "hey, how about some HC?" What's good, What's not? Quote

I'm gonna guess the oil is to keep you from getting the pipes clogged? I am partial to the freeze-dried meals, especially the beef stroganoff, with a splash of the Bag-in-a-box red (sans box). Finish the bag, inflate, and, voila! your pillow to comfortably sleep off way too much wine! Quote
E-rock Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Annies! Bring some butter in a little tupperware. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Do a search for recipies. This topic has been discussed several times. Quote
salami Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I am not fond of HC but I do like turkey peperoni and string cheese with my powerbars. the extra cheese will help plug you up for those long multi pitch climbs. When you are back have a couple of strong cups of coffee to get the pipes flowing again. Quote
AlpineK Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Either HC, Freeze dried, or the all time clasic, " tuna fuck." Quote
Greg_W Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Fried chicken from the Safeway Deli - hits the spot every time. Quote
Toast Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 On the last night of a four day trip through the Pickets, my partner pulls out a package of Stove Top Stuffing and a few dried cranberries. It made enough for him and enough to tease the rest of us with a few spoonfuls. Yumm, it was dreamy Kinda weird though... it doesn't taste as good at home Quote
Dru Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 how can someone going by "salami" not be a horsecock fan? Quote
Fence_Sitter Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 smoked salmon and cous-cous... for the first dinner... and chicken alfredo for the second dinner... had this with skyclimb on Baker! f-in mountain gourmets! never been soo full on a mountain... shoulda brought blue bags... holdin that in on the way out was killer! Bronco Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Cold pizza. Stash it in the snow at night if it's hot out. When is someone going to make dehyrated beer? Quote
Ursa_Eagle Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Kraft Deluxe Mac and Cheese for the first night, toss in some tuna from pouch (small, not large pouch) if you're feeling adventurous. Freeze-dried for the second night (after the climb) when you don't want to deal with any of that. Quote
eternalX Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 No kidding. If you figure that trick out you'll be a millionaire....or at least eating lunch at the millionaire's club... Quote
Dru Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 dehydrated meal is an admission you can't cook. you guys should hit a bulk food store!!!! Quote
Crackbolter Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Here is a solution to not having to carry bottles or cans out. Homemade Pesto with dried parmesan cheese and whatever Italian noodle is the best so far. Go heavy on the GOOD olive oil. The other is FD Green Beans. You just can't go wrong with a little sea salt added. All time favorite: Pack the flyrod and a small frying pan. Yumm! Quote

Some of the alaskin breweries bag their beer instead of bottle it, comes in 16-24-64oz sizes... wiskey usualy works good for me... Food: cook and freeze cubed chicken breast, in one zip lock... one can 'O' budwiser, or what ever, cans are lighter then bottle, but if ya realy don't mind the bottle, a blond ale is prefered... seasoning- teaspoon garlic, teaspoon onion salt, teaspoon of peper, dash of ginger in another ziplock... One chinken flavoerd top romen, only use half of the seasoning packet that come with it... Cook ramen in beer, only enough to boil away so the seasoning and chicken can be added to creat a paste, drink the rest of the beer wile eating, or cooking what ever.... this thread feels like day-sha-voo... Quote
Fence_Sitter Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 i actuall heard that ramen takes more energy to digest than is gained by eating it... dont know about this, but certainly the health benefeits are dubious at best... Quote
