Dwayner Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Only YOU can prevent this evening's Pube-Club from becoming a vertiable Sausage-Fest. Would you like that on your conscience? That includes you Jules, ehmmic, V, lawgoddess, Allison, ICEGIRL!, Lisa, Holly Climber, the elusive "Dynamite" and all the numerous others. Make an appearance and help avoid the situation pictured below: Quote
klenke Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Now that is kind of funny Dwayner. The picture says it all. Quote
ChrisT Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 That's a great way to grab a female's attention alright! Funny 'cause I usually think of "girlie" as being 12 and under. Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I'll go if someone can pick me up (UW, near the hospital). I could use a , meet some other local wierdos... Won't change the sausage-fest, though. In greek there's a term for a bar full of guys called something like "archidokampo" - translates to "a field of balls". Sounds like the scene! Quote
Winter Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 The Seattle crew is scary. Don't you people like each other? not Quote

matt_warfield Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Well, I enjoyed my first Pub Club and can say it seemed a rousing success. Attended by 10-12 and almost all stayed until 11:30. I thought you'd all be bigger (except mtnrgr- he's already bigger). Enjoyed visiting with mattp, AlpineK, lisa, Dwayner, Geek the Greek, and others. Quote
AlpineK Posted February 5, 2003 Author Posted February 5, 2003 Nice to meet you Matt, and Geek too!! All in all that was one of the better Pub Clubs I've been to in a while. It was nice to see a bunch of folks who don't make it into Seattle very often(Lisa, Matt W, CJZ, Jon). For us Seattle folks that Celtic place is really easy to get to, and the bar is a good spot for Pub Club. I may add more details to the report in the Spray version of this Pub Club thread. Quote
Uncle_Tricky Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Changes in Longitudes, Changes in Altitudes By: Jimmy $1.99 Buffet 1977 We went Eastbound for a night of drinking And remembering all the climbs of the year All of the placements, the desperate situations Wonderin' where to they all disappeared But we didn't ponder the question too long With short term memory and a change of venue Met some cc.commers, drank a dozen pitchers And we wound up shit-talking all thru the night Chorus: It's these changes in longitudes, changes in altitudes Pub club never remains quite the same I heard someone sayin that we're just a sprayin But since we ain't climbing, the spray keeps us sane. Ignoring Trail Pass signs, getting tickets and fines Reminds us of the good times that've been Rainstorms and runouts, bushwacking and whiteouts Let's go back to the past once again If it suddenly ended tomorrow If we took a screaming groundfall We'd still remember the RPs and horsecock, snaffles and tiblocs Cause we've seen more funk than we can recall Chorus: These changes in longitudes, changes in altitudes Pub club never remains quite the same Thru all of the fighting and virtual smackdown excitement If we couldn't spray we would all go insane We think about granite when we're high on red wine But sadly we just dropped the whole rack Looks like another night on a ledge with my rope gun hooker I guess we'll have to make our own GU again Oh, but yesterday's over our shoulder So you can't look back for too long There's just too much to climb ,and not enough time but if you're following Beckey, you can't go too wrong. Chorus: With these changes in longitudes, changes in altitudes Pub club never remains quite the same With all of our drooling and solo dry tooling If we couldn't spray we would just go insane If we weren't already crazy we would all go insane. Dave_Schuldt Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 Very cool report, Tricky. See you slackers next week!!! Quote
Dan_Larson Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 JZ wants the next one at the CUFF on the hill (swish alps) Quote
Dwayner Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 Here is a picture of the action at Tuesday night's Pube-Club. There was drinkin', and talkin' and dancin' and such and yes, it is possible to maintain a solid climbing conversation while dancing up a storm as the picture demonstrates. And as you can see, it was NOT a Sausage-Fest. (I think that's MattP. in the red shirt.) Quote
