found a bunch of water ice up in the cascades at a few unfun, inaccessible locations two days ago. it's almost time, after this storm..a little cold snap BABAM! ice.

there is no wilderness when we have airplanes, helicopters, and satilites...only the perception of wilderness. so might as well not bushwack.

We found the fastest way on the way out (took 10 hours down) was to stay high to the south about 500' above the valley hugging the edges of talus slopes then to drop back down into the creek at about 3400' elev, 1.5 miles from the trail. The fist 1.5 miles is mega bush even up top, and the ridgeline is a few 1,000 above the valley so you'd be wasting a lot of time going up hill then back down way before the trail. I heard going up Indian creek may be quicker, dunno?

I saw it with a bunch of "friends" (i.e. people that do not climb) amd after suffering through 1.5 hours of pseudoscience and some really big leaps in logic and philospohy(like how we're in control of our lives due to the fact that a particle can be in 2 places at once???) i jumped from my seat in the Baghdad theater in PDX and shouted, "What a stupid fucking waste of time. i honestly feel dumber!" only to find that the whole audience gasped at me and my "friends" no longer thought i was cool. carlos castenada wrote more logical pieces of fiction. A brief history of time, and even anything my Michio Kaku, or Elegant Universe, or shit even Dancing Wu Li Masters or the Tao of Physics made this look like a skittles commercial asking me, "what is real?" liked the plucky young black kid with the basketball. any movie where kids know more than adults immediately screams Disney. did i mention i hate this movie?

bob, stfu! people should try real hard to do this route clean and join the 21st century along with the rest of the yosemite free crowd. Nice job on the route, since this is the 1st Thin Red Line TR (i think) we should really point out that it is no longer acceptable to nail this route b/c it can be done clean. Not to shit on your awesome job, i probably would've brough pins too...but now that this is being read, do it clean from now on.
