I try and stay away from Stevens, but I like that picture of the area. -
It's pretty sick to see how far McCain would go for a buck. Now all he has left to do is really impress his grandfather by starting and orchestrating a new war for the USA.

McCain thinking about the economy and the next 4 years as President. McCain: Rudy: McCain:

The US ain't alone in having some fucked up economic shit going down.

  King Crimson Rules! I just found this really cool youtube. King Crimson and Apocalypse Now. It kind of relates to current times. [video:youtube]ZicueG-cMwo

Are you talking about that Shelf Road area? That always had a reputation for overuse of bolts. They don't have that kind of ethic in Eldorado Canyon. That place rocks. So does Mickey Mouse Wall. I should add that getting to Micky Mouse Wall is exciting since you have to travel through 4 RR tunnels to get there. I had good times climbing there. During my time in the Boulder area I'd climb in Eldo or up at Lumpy Ridge. That and the proximity to some great climbs in RMNP were some good things about the area. In the end though I got sick of the place and wanted to get back to the PNW since it's way cooler.

Right now it seems to me that the election boils down to the economy. It's no different from any other big election. If the economy stinks and you're in charge as it got stinky then you and your party are given a boot in the ass out the door. I do hear that McCain followers are fighting hard to keep him in Michigan.

I remember passing by that motel a few times with my parents when I was a kid and asking them why the motel had hourly rentals. I wish I remembered what they told me. -

The whole bolt debate thing is funny. Yeah there are a bunch of places with bolts right next to protectable cracks and overbolted routes. Then again there are a lot of cool routes out there where bolts were placed with power drills or even worse power drills used while hanging from a rope. I've spent years working at a job where it is simply not safe to do a cut (substitute drill) without hanging on a rope. Hanging on a rope allows you to think about exactly where you're cutting (drilling) and then do a good job. I'd give 4 thumbs up for placing a bolt in a good spot by hand on lead, but at least two thumbs up for placing a bolt with a drill while hanging. Dawg is at an extreme where I understand the motivation he has but get real.

I bet in the field and in class Raindawg is restrained and sticks to the point of whatever research or instruction he's involved in. He's been involved in that kind of stuff for a long time. CC is not fieldwork or the classroom.

That was a funny day long ago. We had a great ski () down chutes to the Nisqually glacier. The next Monday I'm looking at posts on CC and see some thread about Muir on Saturday. I'm thinking...hey I was at Muir on Saturday. I guess back then I thought 100 posts was a lot of posts.

Prior to looking at CC I new little to nothing about online forums much less posting on online forums. I saw a flier at a rock climbing gym and got curious about this online forum thing. That was a couple months shy of 8 years ago. I've gotten a lot out of this site.

I was at Slick Rock on September 21st. This is what it looked like. It wasn't too bad that day, but the day before there were showers. When we got there it was a little drippy. Thus the name Slick I'm sure we could have climbed, but we had other things going on that day.

Sobo I'll climb the snag with you. I've never been to that crag. It'll be just me there as of right now. Things change occasionally though.

Some folks don't even drink beer, but they still manage to have a good time. You should show up. You might even have a good time.

They'll be back with a vengeance when McCain/Palin are in charge. Right now they spend time thinking of all stuff they have to say to Libtards.
-
The Palin/Biden debate should be interesting. She's pissed off quite a few Republicans, but I don't think she's gone far enough over the top to get dumped.
-
I'll have some. But not nearly enough for 20' tall flames. Other people should bring more.

My dad grew up in Seattle during the depression. Things he saw weren't over the top bad, but they were not good either. Hooverville [img:center]http://progressives.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/seattle_hooverville.jpg[/img] The roaring twenties did not help at all.

Yea's Wok is really good. I'll have to try the other two.

The Wishbone Arete is pretty darn cool. You look at it right from the highway as a very prominent ridgeline staring back at you. There are harder routes for sure, but it provides a good mix of ice and rock. Rock down low Getting through the gargoyles I'll have to read more about recent attempts on the Abruzzi.

I don't know if this is better for you, but you can listen to it on a radio link. That gets rid of the video part, but you still might have to replay parts. NPR coverage
