I try to carry skin wax with me. It's the rub in variety of wax. That helps a lot, but there are times when you still end up with problems. I've never tried any of the spray on wax.

A time out from this stuff might be a good thing.

I've never hiked the West Coast trail. I have done a day hike from near Bamfield out to the Pacific Coast. It isn't, "burly," like climbing is defined. It is really cool though. We had to get a key to a canoe chain lock, hike, canoe, then hike over a ridge. The beaches there are spectacular and worth the effort. There may be hamburger stands on the West Coast Trail, but there was none of that where we went. No other people either. Of course things may be different since the 70s.

Yeah you need to be careful about picking lines. There are a few big cliffs above Snow Lake.

Yeah another CC type has an event that evening. Forced to pick I'll have to say no to PC this Thursday. Other Thursdays I'd go.

Nope. We talked about it, but we were a little unsure of Avy conditions so no. Obviously lunger skied it that day, so we were a little too safe. That's ok the powder was good and I've skied the slot a few times. Actually it ended up being a good thing. I had some issues with my dynafit boots. I lost the little metal piece that locks a heel into the binding. I was skiing with less control of my left boot. Skiing the Slot requires a better boot/ski attachment.
