Griff, I am sure the degres would be fine for what you want them for. I was climbing waterfall ice in the older Koflach viva softs this past ice season and even Makalus.. I have investigated the degres and thought about buying a pair and they are a step above for sure. Ray

Good advice above. Get some hexe and learn to place them, they are lightweight. Get some stoppers I recommend BD or Dmm Walnuts myself for personal reasons.. Then start collecting the cams. If weight is your focus then don't buy Camalots.. Maybe try Wild countrly, Metolius, or Hugh Banner. Nothing beats a tcu by metolius if you ask me. I took a shortie on one recently... Work your way up dude. I would think that you would learn from others but it looks like you are on the solo road.. So get a set of stoppers and hexes and a few small cams and try using them at the base of a climb first. Then go do an easy route like R&D on Icicle Buttress.. If you are in Lworth this weekend I will show you what I mean. -RB

Jens, Nice put! I hear rumors of a name I will not mention that put the route up but I will not slander even if I knew for sure.... However the same guy (hearsay) supposedly put up another route in question was on this board. I will sit in silence until I know for sure. However I have faith in my good resources... I would expose him but I will give him a chance to redeem himself.. -RB

Report just in from the field: Rumors of ESnyder possibly sporto climbing in North Bend??!! Now for the real deal: Mike A. reports finding serious amounts of garbage near Milwaukee Ridge near Snoqualmie Pass. Mike told me he just spotted a site with a large trash bag that he is not able to carry out. Plus oil spilled in various spots in the snow, and Old Milyuckee beer cans scattered about. Then sighted a wierd\unknown substance in the snow creating the words "32 Degrees". Not to mention them totally carving up the slopes in destruction like fashion so the skiing is all FUBAR. I know all snowmobilers are not the same but just one sample of what is out there right now as I post this. -RB

Are you fundraising for the Gondola to the top of Rainier?

I'll be the one brandishing the bottle of Ole Grandad mit marlboro cigarettes. Fight about your beer if you must. I prefer the stouts and hefes. You wussies can't drink squat! Then I'll flounder on the rock the next morning. You'll see me in grand seal flop style!

Joy to the world and all that hippy stuff. Krush the Telepukies. Dog, old Tinky might wanna make a move on you bro. Who knows maybe you are into that though. I prefer Blues Clues myself and not Steve either. [This message has been edited by rayborbon (edited 04-13-2001).]

zdfg, Hehe then I will not tell you some routes that are in. Just kiddin' I am from outta state myself... I know you were not dissin outta state guys but just think of Pat Timson, Peter Croft, and T.M. Herbert bro! There is one large climber that everyone thinks is a native but is not too! He put up serious and good routes too. I promised not to say though. Everyone assumes he is a local... -RB

lambone, I think you misunderstood the other guy's comments dude. I don't think he meant to slam any kids etc. The way you comment here is not accurate to that person. BTW he is not an old fart unless you call 21 old. I agree about some of the types of people you see around though.. I don't beleive he falls into this category since I met him for the first time recently. I will tell you he is a really nice guy. -RB

Veggie, Lie and say you were not in the areas that require fees to climb unless you are caught red handed. Then you are FUBAR. I lied I got off...
