Took a large fall on one of my first leads on gear at Castle Rock years back. Not large or super but about 15 feet or so. Good thing the rock was steep or else... I remember a party observing too. They must have been thinking "Umm that looks scary, does that idiot know what he is doing?". I rested and sended the climb shortly after. It was good to know at that exp. level for me that gear actually works eh! Super thanks to Rush Twilley and Mike Adamson for getting me into gear climbing! I still suck but enjoy it over anything now. Rush would lead hard multi pitch routes in his tennies regularly. I am not worthy! It was total entertainment to watch him send some hard shit out here! And ole Mike dragging me up stuff in the Icicle is what really got me hooked. Erik, Still have yet to take an aid fall! Scary! I know it is a brain FUBAR. Heheh like your story too. -Ray [This message has been edited by rayborbon (edited 03-29-2001).]

Hey sorry if I offended anyone by that but uhh well I don't know anyone that claims that much exp. and knows me other than him and one other person. I will admit it was a lousy shot in the dark from me However I was kinda fired up at the moment and just stepped on my di**. If this Who Cares has really been at it for 30 years or so and knows me then I can only assume that it now is the other person I have in mind. Not trying to be like a policeman though. Who knows maybe the guy was lying.... about it all. Jim Y. I extend my serious apologies if you ever read this. -Ray

Sorry bro but the only guy that == that level of experience and knows me and I don't get along with is him. I have sent emails back and forth with past (not friendly ones either). Yeah I take it back but what would you think if you were in my shoes. See you out there. -Ray

For any that I offended in the previous thread I apologize. I just saw no need to pounce upon and speculate about skills and abilities of the missing guys. All the people I climb with and have in the past know I have strong beliefs... I am a pretty easy going person to say the least. I would feel somewhat personally offended if someone were to make some of those comments that I saw.. Regardless of what anyone thinks I will continue to speak my mind as I always do. For those that wanna slam and speculate about those 2 guys I disagree. Try speaking some of that stuff to their family members... Everybody is climbing for whatever reasons and all but to bring in the Superiority \ Arrogance about this situation is a disgrace. Those are 2 people missing and no I am not out there looking for them but I do care even if I don't know either guy. It's nothing but a tragedy. I will be out there everybody and if you meet me in person you will surely find that I am not an immature jerk spraying on this site etc. Have fun out there and be safe. -Ray

Hmmm this may not be true but is reported to congress. ********************************************* http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/fee_demo/fee_intro.shtml#t3 *********************************************Public reaction has been positive when they see benefits and when fees are easy to pay. The Forest Service chose an aggressive approach to the fee program - encouraging projects of varying sizes and fee types, differential pricing, and charging first time fees for many activities, facilities, and services. Projects range in size from a four-forest project in Southern California to a parking fee at a single trailhead to Northern Michigan's Sylvania Wilderness. We are testing fees per person and per carload; fees for heritage expeditions, visitor centers, camping, boating, hiking, day-use, wilderness permits; and multi-agency fees. The test locations do not yet, in aggregate, represent a nationwide fee program, although we are working towards that goal. They are individual test projects that give insights useful in developing a more integrated fee system in the long run. ********************************************* If you think you agree with me check out this: http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/fee_demo/commentform.html ********************************************* http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/[/url] Glad to hear that forest fees are going to lazy a&^%& people that wanna sit and do this: Mount St. Helens: Replaced projection system for movie, at the Johnston Ridge Observatory. Nice comments. Let me just make myself clear and state that I will continue to make inappropriate comments myself. I have however decided to direct them at people I know only. Let's not get all bent out of shape over fun See you out there. -Ray -
Nice work Blight sounds cool as heck! Maybe I'll have to put that on the tick list too Baltimore, I think you are policing the wrong thread eh? If MrGoodTime was pissed off then maybe he would voice it or send me a message. Not trying to flame this up but did you ever think that some of us know each other a little? Just let that *&*& go bro and climb on. -Ray
