  1. I imagine that as a metrosexual it gives you lots of fuel for your fantasies. Gary took a bath when his bouldering gym venture in the Pearl failed. After that I don't blame him one bit for jacking the prices for membership at the new gym. Its a business for crissakes. He charges what the market will bear.
  2. From left to right: "I must, I must, I must increase this bust" "Fuck, that blow is incredible!" "This new vibrator feels AWESOME!"
  3. . . .and SUV driving soccer moms talking on their cell phones and NOT paying attention to the road. Every time I pedal thru the pearl I feel like I got a target on my back. As for the PRG, I can honestly say that I have not set foot inside the new one. With all due respect to Bill, I think the PRG and Gary once held a valuable position within the climbing community no longer does--its a business and nothing more. I certainly don't fault Gary or the PRG for being successful, on the contrary I am happy for him. He worked hard for it--I dont have any sympathy for the legions of idiots who pay for annual memberships and show up 4 times. I stopped going after the old gym got their "showers." Its hard for me to get psyched about climbing indoors. Maybe thats why I can't climb 5.9
  4. What do you need elaborated on CBS? Read the thread.
  5. Thats assuming its not already a serious pain in the ass to read.
  6. You can walk back to your car down an obvious trail/former access road contouring northwestward down around the alpenjager, from the backside. Wear pants. The nettles are bad.
  7. I wouldn't say Dru is insignificant. If he wasn't still posting here this place mught get maybe 10 posts a day.
  8. I worked with an Oregon state senator. Bitch.
  9. They already work as fudge packers
  10. It failed because its an election year. Wait until after the election and, god forbid, should Bush get re-elected, a new bill will be introduced.
  11. This place has gotten seriously boring with all the banning.
  12. Eric--give a call to US Outdoor store. They had Kaukulators there on sale not too long ago. Maybe they gots your size.
  13. I'd recommend foregoing Banos in favor of checking out Otavalo. You can day trip to Papallacta(sp?) which is a much nicer hot springs. We skipped the typical Guagua acclimitazation hike and went right to the illinizas instead and was happier for it. Do the Ramp route on Sur--its a very fun route.

    Whats his name?
  15. Dan--get a copy of the Dodge book. It will keep you busy for a while. Other fall spots: Opal Creek Wall, Adventure Choss in the Gorge, Mt. Washington, Lambertson Butte, Illumination Rock. There's plenty of stuff out there to get on, its just a quality of rock/amount of work+time equation. Different strokes.
  16. I'm with NOLSe on this. You're young, not a lot of experience so buy gear thats a bit more versatile. Go with at least the 60M length.
  17. Buy 60M length. You may not always need the extra length but when you need it, it will be there. I've come up short with my 50M rope many times and I remember every one. I can't remember a single time when I said to myself "damn, I wish I had brought a shorter rope."

My wife has an African Gray Timneh
  19. Oregon's really cracked down on tickets lately. Used to be you could show in court for a reduction, even if you plead guilty. Now its BOHICA BABY!
  20. Yeah--I got a similar setup, including brand new skins, for less than 200.
  21. Quote of the weekend "Are y'all hunters?" Disappointing that Timmy and Fejas were absent. In honor of Fejas I climbed "Round Here" and damn near peeled off when Ivan started singing Counting Crows. Kudos to TG for his incredible generosity and being one of the best climbing partners a person could have. Special thanks to Jlag for the beta on the Mudd Pile and for going the extra mile to make sure we hit the right spot. First rounds on me my friend. Style points go out to Shred for his culinary talents as we ate dry bagels and wiped the drool from our chins.
  22. Tru dat! Same goes for ski poles.
  23. Ireneo and myself aided up Pipeline last saturday. Just be aware that if someone walks up and wants to freeclimb a route you are aiding, etiquette dictates you get out of their way.
  24. Beacon has some nice practice lines. So does Broughtons. If Madrone was open, it too has some nice practice lines.
  25. Exactly
