No kidding. I felt sorry for those pooches. We were sitting at the top of the first pitch listening to them whine and trundle rocks down the gully. The dogs owner was sharing our belay with us when he finally decided to bail. Good thing for the dogs.

Anyone know who that guy was with the dogs that were trundling in the gully?

Hey Cluck--what day did you do Liberty Bell? We were one party of somethign like 5 parties from Portland on the beckey route Sunday. Went there after spending a very wet and cold dayin Boston Basin Saturday. Finished the weekend off at Castle Rock.

What happened to the ledge? I don't think that gully is ever completely snow free. I've been there in August and October (different years) and encountered snow both times. You can bypass the steep snow by climbing the rock on climbers left. Did it last year with my wife and was a nice day trip. The 5.4 rating seemed accurate.
