I just got back from a XC skiing holiday in Winthrop-Mazama. I spied a big, fat frozen waterfall on the left hand side of Goat Wall. There were other frozen waterfalls around the base of goat mountain as well. While it never got below freezing where we were, perhaps these waterfalls are high enough to stay frozen?

Its the alpine version of the Aztar. Its the lightest tool I have swung. The pinky rest is silly, but should break off the first time you plunge it into hard snow.

I have used a 9.4 mm rope with a 7 mm tag line with good results. If necessary, the follower can jug on it, while the leader hauls with the tag line. Can't do that with twins. (Or at least I would not want to.)

They were in good shape last Saturday. There were perhaps 30 climbers on Saturday all trying to climb 1/2 dozen lines. The term 'goat rodeo' came to mind. I would expect the same this weekend.

The safest way is to redirect through the power point. Use a screamer to be really safe.

If that's Concepcion (which I think it is) I bagged it two years ago . They can be very environmentally unfriendly in those parts. So what you are saying is that it is not an immaculate Concepcion? (You may have to be Catholic to think that's funny.)
