  1. Jim Anglin = class act. What a nice guy, what a climber. I was just the other day doing one of his little known routes out in the boonies. Thank you Jim wherever you are!
  2. Looks like a run of good weather for this week! So starting tomorrow Beacon may be back in shape for a couple days. Might be our last blast of Indian summer before the temps really drop and the easterlies start blowing hard.
  3. Pretty harsh talk. Give the kid a break. Nothing wrong with a little enthusiam. Anybody out getting after it has my admiration, and trying something new is cool to. If he wants to spray some people don't mind reading about it.
  4. how did you guys get down from the top of Mescalito Tower? That is no small accomplishment in itself.
  5. a walk in the Park, got to love it. even Ivan!
  6. yes, I heard the legend of Ivan blowing bolts. I myself almost blew chunks the climbing was so hard.
  7. Anyone been getting after it at Beacon lately with the rain? Rick and I went to the Bat Crag for the first time, and that place is sharp! Son of a...and burly! Thank goodness for Kyle who fixed us up with some aiders and yates daisys! Thank ya Kyle, you the man dude!
  8. Oh Yeah! Way to get after it. The way you learn is just by doing it, working thru it, time on the rock and in the aiders,as we all know. Way to be out climbing while looks like no on else was out at Index getting it done. fun stuff! Keep on rocking dude.
  9. The chimney is pretty casual and nice when its dry. Takes ya right up to the big bivy ledge. A worthy 2 pitch 5.9 jaunt on the upper Town wall if you don't feel like continuing up the aid climbing.
  10. Y knot? Close enough.
  11. Way to be getting after the pow in October! Nice.
  12. Just use some expanding foam from the can to plug the shaft, and if you are real particular you can seal the foam itself with epoxy or polyester resin.
  13. actually I love all climbing, except for that really mossy chossy scary stuff Bill Coe does. The only thing is when I climb runout minimally proteced stuff, my nards shrink up and it becomes very uncomfortable so I have to place gear. Joshua Tree at Christmas sounds great!
  14. oh shit, I just let it slip out I'm a sporty! I'll never be able to lift my head high again at Beacon....oh man. I did see Jim out there last week, of course. and Larry was top rope soling some wild thing to the left of Blownout with one mini pro. Talk that boy into investing into one more, I read where someone grounded out using just one.
  15. Its my belief we need routes of all caliber and ratings. If everything was a sport climb how boring would that be. Reversely people can talk all day about how rad big runouts are....until they fall. I'm still healing. Myself, some days I feel like getting burly and throwing down and some days I just feel like going casual and clipping bolts. Thank the good lord for diversity.
  16. Supposed to be 3 feet at Hood by tomorrow. Sweet! Break out the Fat boys soon
  17. Poor guy must have hit one of the ice patches near the top. There were some stretches right on the trail lately that were ice filled and sort of camo'd so you had to watch for them and hike around them.
  18. Pink, PO Wall? Not many people do this start now. Way rad.
  19. been gone for long time now
  20. U guys are gluttons for punishment, 20+ mile roundtrip! Great video!!
  21. Whoa, that looked tenuous. Way rad!
  22. you haven't lived until you've led that second pitch chimney of Town Crier when its wet. That'll get your blood boiling.
  23. I got some of the original Friends for sale...
  24. Nice TR getting after it gentlemen!
  25. What doesn't killya, just makes you stronger. After you heal that is!
