  1. You can walk off the Red Wall, but its faster to rap. but not if you need to get rescued I guess.
  2. so myself, Plaidman, and his wife Rhonda decided to take a tour of the very interesting, long, and circuitious cave of the Deadhorse here in Washington near the Gorge. Exact location will remain a mystery. Its a good place to get lost or stuck but we were determined not to let that happen. Well, I did get lost for about 1/2 an hour but we won't talk about that here. Here is Rhonda about to enter the realm of the land unseen. Then is a crawl for aways, until we come to a cruxy section that breaks some peoples minds and they scamper back out, the squeeze passage. You go into this hole and then your lower body has to make a 90 degree turn followed by your upper body until you can straighten out down below and see where you are. Its a little weird and best done quickly. I've seen people have mental breakdowns at this point because it is so confining. Scott and Rhonda scooted right thru, kudos! Then its a ways to crawl before the cliff downclimb. The happy couple only about 200 feet in but knowing there are many more crawls, flooded and muddy passages, and wrong turns to go to get out. Well maybe they didn't know about the wrong turns as this point but they were about to find out.... Good times to be continued....
  3. What about the insect repellant?
  4. I don't think it's a drum he's beating Kimmo....its a familiar insect repellant.
  5. After climbing with Ivan Friday evening, I am not sure why he aid climbs as he appears not to like to place gear. I don't even think he likes ropes! Great fun, but I think Im to old for this solo stuff. Fawk, I'm so old that I'm into sewing. Sewing it up that is! Give me a double rack anytime , and some gear.
  6. Holy Shit he's placing gear and crack climbing!
  7. I don't see any piss stains Joe!
  8. Hey, I'll meet up with ya Ivan! Send me a pm with your cell#
  9. Bumkin, thats what Jim said. He said it would take you off the rock yesterday if not careful. it was very nice there today. sunny and not to windy. DenaliDave, heard you bit it trail running and are on injured reserve, sorry to hear it dude!
  10. Probably just your normal rainy dripping wet soggy run of the mill fun day at Beacon. Doesn't get much better except when the wind howls!
  11. Great video, nice climb!!
  12. Ivan, get better! Sorry to hear it, I was out getting after it today with Kenny. East winds a blowing! Storm a coming, hoping its not the last blast of good weather.
  13. Jim Anglin = class act. What a nice guy, what a climber. I was just the other day doing one of his little known routes out in the boonies. Thank you Jim wherever you are!
  14. Looks like a run of good weather for this week! So starting tomorrow Beacon may be back in shape for a couple days. Might be our last blast of Indian summer before the temps really drop and the easterlies start blowing hard.
  15. Pretty harsh talk. Give the kid a break. Nothing wrong with a little enthusiam. Anybody out getting after it has my admiration, and trying something new is cool to. If he wants to spray some people don't mind reading about it.
  16. how did you guys get down from the top of Mescalito Tower? That is no small accomplishment in itself.
  17. a walk in the Park, got to love it. even Ivan!
  18. yes, I heard the legend of Ivan blowing bolts. I myself almost blew chunks the climbing was so hard.
  19. Anyone been getting after it at Beacon lately with the rain? Rick and I went to the Bat Crag for the first time, and that place is sharp! Son of a...and burly! Thank goodness for Kyle who fixed us up with some aiders and yates daisys! Thank ya Kyle, you the man dude!
  20. Oh Yeah! Way to get after it. The way you learn is just by doing it, working thru it, time on the rock and in the aiders,as we all know. Way to be out climbing while looks like no on else was out at Index getting it done. fun stuff! Keep on rocking dude.
  21. The chimney is pretty casual and nice when its dry. Takes ya right up to the big bivy ledge. A worthy 2 pitch 5.9 jaunt on the upper Town wall if you don't feel like continuing up the aid climbing.
  22. Y knot? Close enough.
  23. Way to be getting after the pow in October! Nice.
  24. Just use some expanding foam from the can to plug the shaft, and if you are real particular you can seal the foam itself with epoxy or polyester resin.
