  1. Wandering the hills last week I found what looks like a couple of good walls with what looks like ice and steep snow reminiscent of the North facing walls of Kent and Abiel Peaks. I have given up on being an ice climber but compulsively still look for lines. All photos were taken during this past week of warm sunny weather yet many faces still held ice. The first 3 photos are above the granite lakes on the backside of Mailbox peak. the 4th pic is of the West Face of Kaleetan Peak. That right leaning ramp looks promising. the 5th pic is of the NW shoulder of Web Mountain (a sub mountain between Mt Defiance and Dirty Harry’s peak. this one seems most intriguing because the Web Mountain trail from the Farside parking lot of Exit 38 seems to take you most of the way there from I-90.
  2. Nice write up. I always appreciate the honesty in a good TR. there are always mixed feelings in big climbs. Congrats on an exciting day in the hills.
  3. Nice climb. And, agreed, I’ll give the NH “wicked fast” label too.
  4. Wow. Looks fun. So many adventures, so little time. Nice work on the marathon+ in a day. Wish my knee could handle that kind of “love” again. 😁
  5. Wonderful read and the best mountain porn on the web. Thanks for always entertaining Jason. This is a good dose of Cascade love for me sweating my balls off in SE China. 🍻!
  6. I recall skipping the meadow traverse and we did a longer traverse around the back side of Mt. Parkes. We had to descend into a basin and head up to a notch but it basically dropped us on the correct side directly above the talus field that leads to the flagged trail.
  7. Such a fun cascade outing. Too bad about the views. It’s position amidst the alpine lakes is hard to match.
  8. Wow. Great story. The older I get, the less I want to climb big peaks because of such dangers. Thanks for the reminder of that and also for the reinforcement that it’s not about the summit, but the journey.
  9. Sounds like adventure! Glad you all were able to summit and dodge some serious bullets. Learn from those experiences.
  10. Nice trip. I love the alpine lakes. I’ve done lots of exploring on and off trail out there and there are always new adventures to have. What a special place.
  11. Lovely. Endurance days in the ,mountains are always memorable. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Nice one! Cool to see a seldom traveled peak here in one of my favorite wildernesses.
  13. I’ve been eyeing this the sheet for years but never dragged my tools up there. Glad someone did. Hats off.
  14. Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.Barry LePatner
  15. Love that route. It’s been a season of giving this Autumn. I’ve been surprised by our sunny weekends.
  16. Thanks. Clear creek provides, I just press buttons.
  17. I had a spectacular day up there yesterday. Ive been climbing up here for ten years now and really appreciate the bolt replacement and general maintenance that has been happening. I climbed the Kone yesterday and every bolt was shiny new. Even the majority of bolts on the descent (Gastroblast) look brand-spanking new! Makes me want to finally climb that route. My first route in Darrington was Till abroad Daylight with, then, my future wife and it was a memorable moment early in our relationship. I may have not thought it so enjoyable if I had any idea how sketchy the ancient quarter inchers and button heads were! This route has also been upgraded to modern 3/8 stainless steel hardware btw. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks and hope one day I will make the time to give back a bit more myself.
