  1. curt, thanks for the link.
  2. yea, i was planning on coming this Thurs. and thanks for the info. See you there.
  3. time-lapsed pics of you falling asleep = its nice to see you had a sleeping pad!
  4. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=48.1706649589215&lon=-121.60903930664062&site=sew&smap=1&marine=0&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=text I am hoping to spend the weekend out there but weather conditions right now don't make it seem like a great idea. I was Wondering if someone in the area could give me an update on how high snow level is and how deep. Maybe even how the road and/or the slabs of o'clock rocks/comb look. I heard snow level is around 1500 feet right now
  5. yea, beautiful stuff!
  6. sheesh! for an epic like that, you SHOULD have been on stuart! looks like fun!
  7. yikes! you guys are lucky to be alright! the mountain gods look kindly on you.
  8. excellent! sounds like a great adventure and great climb.
  9. i will admit that i occasionally chase grades, but I try and always remember that grades are suspect, not an exact science, and most of all, opinions. I am not a powerful climber, so overhung routes are always harder for me than slabs regardless of the rating. How does that great quote go, "The best climber is the one having the most fun" (?) Go out and send Pilchuck!
  10. patience gene, patience. i need to find some things out first.
  11. If so, PM me.
  12. ben your TR read almost exactly like my last two trips out to l-town i.e. the same routes. good stuff!
  13. solid work as usual dan. any glimpses at the north ridge? wondering how long I have to wait before my Spring attempt at it.
  14. cool. the tree route is a fun easy outing. I often use it to introduce newbies to multi-pitch climbing. I know nothing of the stump. must be one of the tasty new routes out there. What piece of rock is it on? pics?
  15. rock on dudes! Cheers to the photographer.
  16. peter croft, conrad anker, solar flare, incredible hulk
  17. in no way would i use this as a toprope anchor, but i did use this as a rap anchor and felt pretty sketched out by it. you can find it on white slabs of snow creek wall
  18. dumb shits! ::
  19. i recommend having a few back-up plans in case the weather and snow is crap. Find some other mountains, or easier routes up Rainier. I had an attempt last year mid-May and was at the tail end of one storm and the beginning of another. We were wallowing through up to 3 feet of snow on one of the easier routes up the mountain.
  20. i think we need to get a fan club for slab. There seem to be a small amount of us.
  21. mt pilchuck?
  22. yea, what Ivan said. Good work escaping death and learning a bit more about the mountains hands on. Don't worry about the missed summits. In the winter, my summit rate is somewhere below 50%. The cascades are tough, especially in the winter.
  23. i am interested in getting on some rock this weekend. I lead 5.10/11 sport and 5.9/5.10 trad and have a full rack. Saturday looks best.
