  1. Great TR. I was wondering if you and your lady were standing on your heads again in the summit pics? This summer a couple friends and I did the north peak, south peak, and kept traversing the entire ridge south until we reached the pass back to the ingles lake trail. Nothing too hard but a great way to stay in the gorgeous 360 views you get up there and highly recommended.
  2. I heart burger barn
  3. Sun chips is great. Give it a go.
  4. I too have been dreaming about those slabs for many years. Thanks for a glimpse.
  5. That's a lot of good granite!
  6. Cool! Always wanted to check this route out
  7. Love that area. Nice report and climb. I looked at that ridge last year wondering about its moderate looking, rambly nature. The approach Seems kinda forced though.
  8. Awesome! Makes me think I could pull off a productive trip to Alaska. I dig your style of time spent out there with a bit of everything.
  9. Great read and fantastic photos! I remember those cedar trees in that valley. They are the biggest and oldest cedars I have ever seen!
  10. Well getting back to the original subject, if you believe in karma, justice will be served by the climbers who stole your cams. Because of their arrogance, they will probably place them as their only gear, fall, gear pulls, broken back or worse. Justice served..
  11. So good! Thanks for sharing! A friend and I tried a few winters ago to climb and ski hagen but got turned around by slush bridges between giant logs on steep hillside. We made 2 miles in 10 hours., camped, and turned tail the next day. That there is some rugged terrain!
  12. Wow, all aspects of your story are dreamy. Livin' the dream!
  13. "The biggest problem with the High Sierra is that everything is perfect for doing big days. You have easy approaches and descents, perfect weather, solid rock, lots of moderate terrain... but every time you look around the view is so awesome that you just stare at it for minutes. Then you get to the next ledge and you feel compelled to take yet another panorama with your camera. It makes it really difficult to cover all that awesome terrain at a reasonable pace. If you manage to spend less than 15 min per hour photographing its a frickin' miracle!" WHERE'S THE PICS THEN?
  14. So did you climb the ridge to the right of the north face? More like the SW face? Sounds like one hell of an adventure but far from esthetic. Way to get out there and explore.
  15. Hey bill, it was a pleasure meeting you up there and was glad to help out a bit. Both routes are fun and quite safe. More people should visit. 3 o'clock rock is slowly coming into the modern age. It might be nice to give folks a rundown of all the routes sporting new hardware to entice them towards these routes and away from those that could be dangerous.
  16. I drove past the decommissioned road a week ago. It seemed quite overgrown with salmon berry and the like.
  17. Maniac is manicuring his routes for the masses!? Tell us more! Nice work gentlemen. Seems like a lot more gear than I thought was needed. Thanks for your opinion.
