  1. Nice! Death cornice is right.

    Trailer Bike

I bought a "Bell" trailer from costco several years ago, it was great, no complaints. Way cheaper than other brands. Holds one or two kids with storage. Check 'em out.
  3. Snagging yur laderhosen on a tree branch, causing partial casteration.
  4. I have a pair of chameleons, nice boot for hiking in the desert, very soft and flexable. I would not recomend these for using with crampons or on a long snow climb.
  5. 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 hours up,if you're in decent shape. Freezing levels are going from 5K this week to 10K on Sat. Leave early, like 4am or before. Avi danger will probably be considerable given the warming weather. Crampons may be useful/needed, don't know about snowshoes; but I'd bring both.
  6. Nice work folks. Really nice set pics Tom, beautiful shot of Shuksan.
  7. July @ Smith is good, although can get into the 90's. Smith has several sides and you can generally find shade if you move. Also, nights are usually cool, so early climbing is great. I'd head to Smith and do what you need to do.
  8. I bought a North Face Cat's Meow a couple of years ago. Fairly cheap, well designed, but not a 20 deg. bag. I sleep warm and this bag is only half comfy to about 25. I know ratings are "survivable" ratings, but this bag is not as warm as other 20's. My 2 cents.
  9. Excellent TR. Nice to read about something a little out of the ordinary. Sweet pics!
  10. That's awesome! Thanks WCC.
  11. Yes, here's a linky: http://www.mountainsafety.org.nz/assets/images/Snow%20Anchors0705.pdf
  12. Years back skiing at Crystal I saw a gal crouched over, ski pants down around her boots, bare butt, skiing backwards out of the trees across the groomer; screaming! I assumed she had skied into the trees for some privacy. Always make sure your skiis are perpendicular to the fall line when stopped. OK, back to tree wells.
  13. Nice guy! An incredible set of photos, well done!
  14. Not Pineapple express, that's a large area of warm moist tropical air that usually sends frezzing levels to 7K or above. Snoq. is relatively low elevation, so prone to rain/snow weather mix. Also if winds are out of the east, they will bring cooler air form Eastern WA, thus snow. Westerly winds can bring warmer ocean air. Currently there are a number of weather systems moving though the area, causing freezing levels to bounce around a bit.
  15. Get a copy of "The All Mountain Skier" by R. Mark Elling; Ragged Ridge Press. Great book, writes a lot about blending of different techniques for different conditions. Updated for newer equipment etc....
  16. I've had good luck with McNetts spray on. Wash, remove garment and spray while wet, then dry in dryer. Make sure you get the stuff for soft shells, not the hard shell stuff.
  17. +1 to what Buckaroo said. Conditions can change very quickly up there. Bring 'em!
  18. The doc that did my L4/L5 microdisectomy in '91 is retired, but good luck. My back has great ever since. Go for it.
  19. No chains on Outerspace as I remember, you'd have to leave gear. There are some bolts on the south end of Library Ledge, not sure where you'd wind up if you rapped off from there however. I'd reccommend the walk-off.
  20. Sweet TR, with great pics. Thanks for posting!
  21. Really great write-up with an awesome set of pics. Sweet!
  22. Love the verticle brush shot - classic!
