  1. Thanks for organizing this. Fun!
  2. When y'all decide where, I can make it Thurs.
  3. I will be there as well. Medium tee if you have any left.
  4. Primal loft "wears out" due to the fibers getting broken, mainly from stuffing in a small stuff sack. I use a larger than the original stuff sack for mine. Usually I just loosely stuff it in the top of my pack, and only use the sack if it's raining. I have not noticed any degradation in mine in the six years I've had it.
  5. Well said!
  6. The rangers at NCNP seem especially prone to this mindset. Maybe its time this underutilized park was returned to the people and withdrawn from the national park system? (Not a suggestion, just a thought for now.) It should be obvious that park rangers are following orders from above. I suggest you take the time to get to know some of the NCNP rangers before you make comments like this. You are correct, the rangers are not the problem, and are just following orders. I should have said "park management" rather then "rangers".
  7. So Federal Employees are not working, yet have the time to make up special signage? Just another "shove it up your ass taxpayer" message from "the park is mine" rangers. Fuck 'em!
  8. Thanks to RocketJSquirrel for bring the Wilderness Watch support of this to our attentions. Thanks also to Sol and company for thier time on this matter. Quite frankly government at any level scares the living shit out of me anymore. I have never been an anarchist, but I see very little of any level of government atually helping anything except themselves to you pocket. From the LCR facebook page: ....this area has biological refuges of global importance, harboring species that are threatened or lost in other areas and offering hope..... What hope? The hope that they can severly restrict access and get an access fee in place? I hope I am wrong about this program, but time will tell.
  9. How sad and shocking. A very generous and likeable person. My condolances to his family and friends.
  10. wow, great write up; very enjoyable reading! your photos have inspired me to get on that route. and no, the truck stop customers probably didn't think you a methhead, just a truck driver.
  11. way to tick off those Wa Pass routes, nice!
  12. Got a little off route on the SW Face and wound up under the Bovings roofs, pretty intimidating view. Nice job knocking these off.
  13. excellent! an outstanding area. sorry about the unplanned dip.
  14. Gene, were you up there Sunday? We were on Paisano, didn't see anyone else except for the pair at Bench Camp that did Silverstar. Nice TR Val. We scanned NF Burgundy but didn't see anyone. If you're into scary slabs do WR Paisano, the last three moves on the last pitch are pretty wild; thankfully we had double .00's.
  15. Nice work Tom & Co. Tom, you were eyeballing that traverse when we were on Ruth 2 years ago, glad you finally nailed it. Great set of pics as usual!
  16. Very nice! Thanks for the stoke!
  17. I was wondering what you were up to. Nice work. Your 3rd pic is fabulous!
  18. Thank You!
  19. Trip: Darrington - 3 O'Clock, Green Giant TR/Conditions - Silent Running, Dreamer Date: 6/2/2013 Trip Report: More conditions update than TR here. Not many pics 'cause my camera unbuckled itself before the 1st bolt on Silent Running and took a ride, recovered after the climb no worse for the ride. Clear Creek Rd. 2060 - Passenger car approved to 8 Mile TH, drivable another 1 1/2 - 2 miles, then blocked by large downed tree. Somebody got a subie to the tree; how I don't know, good dip/small washout. Silent Running - dry and lovely. Bonus pitch (top pitch) was partially wet. I guess the wet part is the bonus. Dreamer - got a late start only did the first five pitches. Fairly consolodated snow up the gulley; ice axe would have been nice with approach shoes. Safe Sex - wet. Blueberry Hill - Granite sidewalk looked wet from a far. Will probably remain that way for bit, large patch of snow at the top of the sidewalk.
  20. Patch it up yourself. If you are just replacing old hardware, go for it, that doesn't apply to adding bolts on existing routes however.
  21. Yes, I climbed it before the eruption - when it was free! Climbed and skied for $22 after. Definitely agree with Water, investigate MSHI St. Helens Summit June '75
  22. Don't feel bad, the headwall crack is a museum of hardware. Everything from bongs, hexes, and old nuts to cams. 50 years from now your donation will viewed with awe. Hope you get it back though.
  23. Routes are often reasonably snow free early season; however pro can be problematic because all the cracks are filled with ice.
  24. If your that bored in the big ditch to have to resort to the dulfersitz you're doing something wrong. Lot of female german tourists, mostly blonde and horny. C4 slack lining - impress the white trust fund hippie chicks. Re-sell gloves at the base of 1/2 dome. I've heard there is also some scenery to enjoy. Hang out at the base of el cap and dodge, turds, haul bags, and other crap.
