  1. Bump. I have an extra room open. Just in time for the opening of Beacon Rock... $450/month includes all utilities. Short term OK, too. Weekend warrior hostel rates available upon inquiry. Beatard paradise. Only 5 minutes from Beacon Rock. A few pics taken today...
  2. A bolt at chest level.
  3. I have the same, only opposite, issue... I can't fall asleep well on an empty stomach. I gave up fighting it years ago and make sure I eat a snack (protien and/or fatty sweets) before bedtime if I am at all still hungry. Especially if I have a big climb or outing the next day. Lack of sleep is far worse on my body than eating before bedtime. (IMHO YRMV)
  4. I obey party size limits, quotas, closures and regulations. I sleep on rock and snow or established camps. I avoid stepping on vegetation. I pack my shit out of fragile environments. Etc. You really are a clown. If you used a bolt at all, your not a "real climber". Don't ya get it?
  5. Seems pretty obvious to me that Dwayner get teased so much about his craft primarily due to his one line rant and condescending attitude toward "those wanna be climbers". In his world, digging up graves is not destructive to the environment, like bolts are. We all see the hypocrisy of his myopic point of view. So long as the end justifies the means, at least for grave digging. Just my two cents, carry on.
  6. If the van is a jingling, come on in fer some mingling...
  7. Sounds like I missed a great thread.
  8. Thanks it was delicious, too. If you are referring to onions in the garden yes, if in the flied lice, then no, that would be purple cabbage and green onions.
  9. I'm still figuring out how to edit RAW, but here are a few pics(not yet edited) while playing around with the Panasonic Lumic LX5... I smell BACON! YUM, BACON! Cosmo! Chicken Fried Rice, my best yet. YUM! BTW, those rocks are balancing like 5.11+, they take grounders daily.
  10. I'd choose that obvious line, you know, the vertical one...
  11. Yes. The day I met LCK... Whilst doing my daily lap on das corner, I met he and Jimmy O on Tree Ledge. I said "Nice to meet you, Kenny. That must be your cam stuck there. I almost had it out for you." *cough* I knew the cam must have just gotten stuck as I did a lap just before dark the night before and there was no stuck cam. I decided to bring a small rack early the next day to see if I could get it out. Despite knowing better, I put a similar size cam right next to his as part of my 3 piece anchor. I fiddled with it for a minute or two and I almost had it out, then it worked in a bit further, where it was stuck for good. However, the cam I am now hanging off is stuck too, right next to LCK's. Oh man, this is going to be really embarrassing if I lose a cam trying to booty his. Anywho, I end up spending another half hour and barely get my own cam out. I got in big trouble with the X as we were supposed to be headed out of town and I ended up being a half hour late. Bonus Material - The moral to the story is DON'T PUT CAMS IN THAT CORNER! Unless your name rings well "Lost Cam" and you are seeking a new moniker. Just sayin.
  12. Very worth doing....have your head about you. Every pitch was harder than the guide gave IMO. You get a full set of dinner plates with most pitches.
  13. You can thank me fer that! Just sayin.
  14. I just pulled the trigger on the Lumix. Can't wait till it gets here... Wow, muy pronto on the delivery. I ordered a refurbished Lumix LX5 on the 14th and it arrived, along with the extra battery & auto lens cap, on the 17th. Hoping the case arrives today. This is my first P & S camera that does raw and I'm excited to play with it once the software finishes downloading. At least I am familiar with the Lumix set-up so I don't have to re-learn a new system... So far, I love it! The lens quality is great for a P & S digital. I'll post up some pics from the test drive. Next question for those that own the same Lumix LX5 is... Do you have any "custom settings" for shooting in common climbing scenarios (IE - snow/bright light, rock, sunset/landscape, etc)?
  15. If I try to pull my BB out, with great effort, I'm guessing I'd be pretty shocked at the end results. Just sayin.
  16. Exactly, WTF? Sounds like you had a bit too much "cofee", perhaps??? You got the heebee-gee bee itch, too?
  17. I've got some Russian made ones that have never really been used. Let me know if your still looking and I will dig them out of the gear room.
  18. And fer good reason, apparently.
  19. I just pulled the trigger on the Lumix. Can't wait till it gets here...
  20. I'm leaning toward the Lumix LX5 now that I lost my other Lumix at the Black Keys show last week. It was all taped together and on it's last leg but I sure want the memory card back as it was an amazing show with excellent seats ...
  21. I only tape the parts of my flesh I want to keep.
  22. If it is too short, just make up the difference by buying a big truck, jack it up real high and put some tractor tires on it. If your tool is still too short, add the nut-sack ball hitch to your big bad truck.
