Yeah, Bellingham is just a rainier, colder and windier version of Seattle with less people and more and cute girls and trees and cool coffee shops and close mountains and neat pubs and good grocery stores more hippy things to do. Better stay away. I hear Austin Texas is real neat.

Heres a damn shitty job: Crawl under a 120 year old house, and f*** around in a 16 inch crawl space and proceed to pull down 75 year old fiber glass insulation. While you do this, make sure to get plenty of fiberglass in your clothes (which makes you itch like hell) get impaled by old rusty nails and staples, and be sure to make a note of the rotting rat carcass that falls out of some rotten insulation and hits you on the back of the skull! After recovering from your session of vomiting and peeing yourself, pull the rusty staple out of your hand, wipe off the throw-up, and continue. When you come to the dead rotting raccoon, don't forget to think about the fact that there are millions of airborn spores and viruses just waiting to make their way into your future hospital bills. Oh, and make sure to put up the replacement fiberglass insulation upside-down. You know, just so you can do the whole thing over again!

OK, Muffy, the first thing you need to know about sugar "addiction" is that it really does correspond to a brain event. The reason people get sugar cravings, is because your brain is not getting what it needs to sustain its energy demands. Because the brain only uses glucose for energy, whenever glucose is low the first thing the brain does is send out a chemical message to your pancreas to release the hormone glucagon - which makes you feel HUNGRY. This is a normal and healthy thing. Where it gets complicated: when people eat a diet that is low in nutrition (nutrition is NOT only calories) the brain can go into a constant starvation state even though the daily intake of calories exceeds metabolic rate. When your brain always thinks it is starving, the first CRAVING it [creates] is for simple sugars - the fastest and easiest way to get glucose. So begins the vicious cycle: you plow into some sugar and give your brain some relief. Then, 20 minutes later, because sugar is so rapidly metabolized, you get the same craving all over again and end up consuming way more calories than you are burning. Hence weight gain. The only way to beat this cycle is to supply your body with ample quality nutrition, and get more exercise -which drastically improves HOW you use what you eat. What is interesting to me, is that the brain truly is the master controller of the whole body. Whenever one chemical is off balance, it compensates by off balancing something else! One interesting example, is that after a heavy workout and you've broken down a lot of muscle tissue, the brain lowers the amount of insulin cycling in the blood. It does this because if insulin remained high, the brain would have to compete with your damaged muscles for glucose (since insulin is responsible for pulling sugar into cells). The reason that is not good, is because if the brain fails to get enough glucose, well, shit starts to die! This is partially why post workout nutrition is so important. At any rate, if you want to lower your intake of sugar, which should lower your total calories and help you lose weight, eat a balanced diet that is rich in vegatables, whole grains, and lean protein. And don't forget to make EXERCISE a ***PRIORITY*** - just like you do your job and taking care of your munchkins! How are you doing, anyway? I haven't chatted with ya in some time!

Why? Dude, anything with regards to "better sex" is worth a good bout of "discuss". Get with the beat bone! Personally, I am a heterosexual male who was raised on a colony of raging lesbians, and am thoroughly rooted in the feminist movement. Of course sex is better between equals - who wants to sleep with someone who hates themself?

I grew up doing gymnastics as a kid and teenager, and just recently started doing some coaching. Its been nearly 8 years since I did any kind of tumbling routine, rings, or parallel bars, but this past week I was reminded of how AWSOME this sport is! It builds core strength and explosiveness like you would not believe. Plus, just look at the kind of shape Olympic gymnasts are in, especially the guys - they are RIPPED. I know its not carrying a heavy pack or working on the finger board, but seriously? I think gymnastics builds an extremely functional type of fitness. You can never go wrong with abs of steel! Anyone else on here think so?

I recently had a discussion with an infectous disease specialist, and she basically told me that at the end of the day, she realizes that people in her field are still in the dark ages of medicine. "There are exponential volumes of bugs that we don't even know exist". "We're getting better, but there is still a LONG way to go". This shit is scary.

We can change this if you want. It will be more interesting if "we" does not include "Kevbone"
