  1. I bet you have a real purty mouth
  2. The best breakfast is the one having the most fun! Jesus I can't belive you all missed this one.
  3. Why so secretive? Why not tell all where this happened?
  4. Rob, why are you so filled with intolerance for those who are less tolerant than you? First the Jesus thread and now this. WTF, is it that time of month or what?
  5. OK I got one (not multi-variable calculus, but fun nevertheless): show from Newton's laws that the fall factor is length of rope divided by fall distance FF = l/d Be sure to include any assumptions you make (e.g. the rope behaves like an ideal spring where f = kx). Bonus points if you include a free body diagram.
  6. Math jerk off!!!!! Could someone please post a multi-variable calculus problem?
  7. For those of us just joining this thread....what happened?
  8. Interesting hypothesis, but no. It is quite common in the delirium of late stage hypothermia for victims to disrobe.
  9. I like the hourly forecast available on other web sites. EC should do that.
  10. 90% of the time the forcast is cloudy with sunny periods and chance of showers.
  11. Exact time depends on conditions, your skill downclimbing and fitness level. But yes, most parties go all the way to the parking lot after summiting.
  12. Poomba is the Lion King character your thinking of...the warthog
  13. Piston broke (pissed and broke)...classic pun...sadly requires tools to repair
  14. She mentions a trail being planned tha goes all the way around Indian arm from Deep Cove to Belcarra...did that ever happen? Would be a nice hike.
  15. Decided to do Sendero Diez Vistas on the E side of Indian Arm above Buntzen Lake. After posting I remembered I have copy of Dawn Hanna's Best Hikes and Walks in SW BC. Doesn't get much use in my house, but came in handy today. I'll post a trip report. Thanks for the suggestion, Murray.
  16. With the line ups/clusterf'ks i've seen on Diedre, it will take you more than a few days to put up that vertical mileage.
  17. Wanting to do a hike this weekend - something that is a day trip from Vancouver (Canada). All stuff that comes to mind is probably waist deep in snow right now (Elfin Lakes, Joffre Lakes, Mt Seymour, Golden Ears etc). Any suggestions? Not opposed to a bit of snow, but don;t want to be post-holing. Would be nice to get a nice view, too. Thanks for the ideas.
  18. +1 on Malcom77b's comment If you are not alpine climbing, get a 10 or even better 10.5mm for durability. Don't worry about dry coating either. Duodess is nice and makes rope handling a bit easier (thats where each half of the rope has a separate weave pattern). I love Mammut ropes, i find they are supple (not stiff) and handle well.
  19. I once had a woman I picked up in the bar give me $20 for a cab home the next morning. Now that was EPIC!
  20. Looking to get out and do some alpine climbing this summer. Been mostly out of the scene for a few years (been busy with work and have a 3 year old), but used to lead 5.9 to 5.10- in the alpine. Don't have any specific objectives - up for anything from scrambling to 5.9 (or harder if you want to lead those pitches). I am located in Vancouver, BC. Would be great to head up to Squamish for an afternoon or evening to get aquainted or do something easy and fun such as Yak Peak and go from there based on chemistry/ability. PM me.
  21. Marc, does your mother know what you are up to? Oh, and nice send.
  22. One benefit here is you won't have to worry about a gay partner making moves on your girlfriend.
  23. Hillary had some pretty significant financing behind him. I don't think he climbed Everest on his dime and expertise alone. Double standard?

  25. But if it isn't, I agree, lay off this guy.
