  1. Talking about the same old Obomba and Republican du jour is making me want to stab my eyes out. Harper, Iggy, Layton or May? What kind of a job do you think Harper has done?
  2. Frank, you don't need one pair of pants, you need three pairs: 1) Base layer for insulation, comfort and moisture wicking ( polypro, silk etc.) 2) Insulation layer (Fleece, wool etc.) 3) Waterproof layer (gortex, coated nylon etc.) Add and remove layers as required. Don't forget to wear nylon shorts over your polypro as a courtesy to fellow climbers. Personally I have a pair of pants made from Schoeller stretchy fabric which is a good balance of water/wind resistant and breathable. I use them for everything from backcountry skiing to alpine rock to volcano slogs and hiking - just adding a layer underneath or on top as conditions require (as described above). I have had them for almost 15 years and just this year I am looking for a new pair b/c they have worn a hole in the butt. Got them for $20 at the MEC garage sale.
  3. cc.com is way cooler than Facebook, yet Zuckerberg is the billionaire. This world is just not fair.
  4. Gib Ledge is a great option from Muir in the right conditions. More direct, less traffic. I recommend descending Ingrahm/DC though due to rockfall hazard on the ledge as things warm up. Main concern is the ledge is 3ft wide in places, which is exciting, but not as bad as ait sounds. Also a steep section from the end of the ledge to the top of the Rock of Gibralter. I brought a few pickets when i went with the intention of placing running protection on the ledge and steep chute, but ended up not placing anything - wasn't as bad as i thought it might be.

This video is a steaming pile, just like the first one. The logic is so feeble, it was painful to watch.

    Is this legal?

My only rat bastard deadbeat client, skipped off to Canada owing me 5k a number of years ago. Eventually, thanks to googlebots, this will be one of the first things you see when you google his name. Sort of like when I was using "Pat Robertson had sex with my younger brother" though he's so ubiquitous that I had to settle for being on the first page of hits when running a search for "pat robertson sex" edited to add: I dunno, I suppose the thread topic is relevant, "Is this legal?" Does this really work? perhaps I will try it
  11. Perhaps cross post to the dirtbag thread...this would be a fortune to to a true dirtbag. Any true dirtbag would be able to mooch transport to Mt. hood.

    Vegans with Pets

Sadly, i agree with you. Most vegans and vegetarians I know could better be described as pastatarians. Not healthy at all. My only point was it is possible to be vegan and enjoy a complete balanced diet. Totally agree that many vegans don't. But keep in mind many non-vegans don;t have a healthy, balanced diet either....i don't think it has much to with whether you eat meat or not but rather how much thought and planning you put into what you do eat.

    Vegans with Pets

Veganism is largely an unhealthy lifestyle. Not true. Veganism can be a healthy diet. Otherwise is just what the beef and dairy lobby would have you think. Just like a non-vegan diet can be very unhealthy, a vegan diet can too. Any diet requires a thoughtful approach....Big Mac and cokes don't cut it either. For the vegan, there is plenty of sources of meat alternates. Some thought is required to be sure enough iron and B12 is being consumed, but protein substitutes abound.

    9/11 faked?

I have never seen so many people here, who normally are on opposing sides of issues, agree before. Therefore, it must be true.

    9/11 faked?

I could get over a thousand architects to tell you the world is only a few thousand years old. So what.
  23. The best video camera is the one having the most fun. Duh.
  24. +1 on the Gottman book. Read it and do the excercises with your partner. Also, I believe Gottman is based in Seattle. If I recall correctly, his seminars are a bit spendy. The answers to your questions depend on the detailed specifics of your situation - more detail than you probably want to share here. I would suggest personal counseling to work through your specific situation. Best with your partner. If she won't go, do it anyway by yourself. Talking it through in a confidential setting will really help you work through it. Many employers include a limited amount of confidential counseling as a benefit. Mine does and my wife and I have taken advantage of it. Our experience was is took a few tries before we found a counselor that worked for us. Good luck.
  25. Perhaps you should start your own thread for your groupies to pic a new sig line for you.
