  1. I'm in Seattle so I can't attend, but props to Mountain Gear. Good outfit. Best wishes to the Yakima Climbing Club.
  2. As a guy, how can I be accused of sexual harrasment when I am daily surrounded by the objectification of women? Look at those pictures! All of society forces me to view women that way. Men are the victims of the cultural forces that compel us to sexually harrass. I AM THE VICTIM HERE.
  3. You're supposed to be making packs, not working out.
  4. I have been through regularly-scheduled sex harassment training twice. Both times the trainers were utterly gorgeous babes. Both easily were 8s (no, not a Ballard 8). One was a lawyer who wore an attractive but borderline unprofessional tight short skirt. At first I thought it was a gag (that company would boost morale by calling staff meetings then bringing in performers). Is that a pattern in the anti-sex-harassment industry?
  5. If you mean the camp on the approach road very near the start of the Granite Stairway, I made a quick check Sunday but didn't see anything. In fact it looked as if no one had even used it recently. If you mean some other campsite, perhaps closer to the start of a route, I dunno.
  6. a single thread can't bear both minx and "pearl necklace"
  7. go on...
  8. Same assortment of monsters and trash in the U-District.
  9. You don't climb, you don't ski...my God, you're one of them "hikers"!
  10. No. It’s black or white. You have to choose up sides. You’re for one side and against the others. You’re either for us or you’re against us. There’s no role for reason or ambiguity. Only crude personal attacks and anger determine what and who is acceptable. This is cc.com.
  11. REI's would be a pigeon ("rat with wings"). There was a recent news item about someone who killed a falcon because it was preying on pigeons. That's REI's demographic.
  12. If certain people play this thread right, cc.com could have some comic relief from the bolt vs. trad cesspool.
  13. That story wins the thread, the forum, the website, and places third overall on the whole frikkin interweb. Your pro didn't zipper, the pro stayed and the crag zippered.
  14. another day closer to the grave
  15. Dave at CF Seattle might be up for letting you use the gym if some of his better clients can compete too. We have military guys all the time in the gym, they don't scare anyone. Put your money where you mouth is, akhalteke. Bring it out in public so we'll all see just how good you are.
  16. Austin is 200 miles from Dallas. You should be able to do it under 2 hours.
  17. I got it! You can go help out at Big John Cornyn's re-election office! woo hoo
  18. Yeah, Minx will really dig Dallas' beautiful people.
  19. I was raised in Dallas. *crickets chirping*
  20. So we have a second GOP candidate whose qualification is that the voters would like to have a beer with him. He's that kind of guy. I'd hope that we would want a president who is better than ol' Fred next door.

    back to Archie...please
  22. Note that it is not necessary to detonate nuclear weapons to generate an EMP. That's the whole frikkin point of all the reasearch the US and USSR did, to build machinery that would generate EMPs without dispersing ionizing radiation.
  23. I remember that just after the neutron bomb frenzy in the 80s came a slew of reports and buzz about the commies' EMP machines. Now it's NK. Neither EMP nor scare tactics are new. The U.S. launched EMP research in the 40's after noticing strange effects from the first A-bomb blasts. Most military equipment we use now is "hardened" against EMP. Back when I was interested in nuclear weapons it seemed to me that EMP was pretty well understood and allowed for, at least by the U.S.

    Sounders!

In golf it's supposed to go forward only but sometimes it goes off to the side. In bullfighting the balls go around in circles then they stop moving all at once.
