Makes sense in a backwards way. Other officials don't want to encourage Ford spending his own money, because that would set a precedence for others to do the same. It's kinda like when we close down a lane for 2 months to fix a pothole. How many times have you drove by signs that say construction area, during normal business hours only to have no one on it? Seems like they need to spend that money, just to say next year that they need the same level of funding.

First I bought the Joker (9.1 rated as single, half & twin). Then did more research and saw the advantages of a half rope system an bought am 8mm, thinking it would pair up as a half with the joker, but haven't tried it yet.
-
Do you guys always try to pair one half ropes with an identical one? Having not used a half rope system yet, I was thinking of having one at 8.5 and another at 8 mm. Am I off base?

Some people just got to be the first to own it, like the iPhone. The real joke would be if someone bought them. Hence zero bids.

Chuck Norris's urine is bottled and sold as a beverage, we know it as Red Bull. Chuck Norris's tears cure cancer, to bad he never cries.

Driving to Eastern Oregon tonight after work (Red Bull). Will wander around Eagle Cap Wilderness with snowshoes like a touron

The socially redeeming value means I have to be PC on all posts outside of spray. I also think twice before putting in my 2 cents in a spray forum, lest i incite a STFU nOOb response.

Twin ropes used as regular halves = death?

For what it's worth, I was looking at the same rope at Second Ascent to pair with my Mammut 8 mm and the associate suggested I use it as a half rope. Seems like you weren't the only one given the same disinformation. -
I thought the Venoms have interchangable picks. Couldn't you just throw on a Laser or Alaska pick? BTW Alaska picks are on clearance at Seattle REI for $12.

I wish logged on for this thread before I saw Beowolf last night. Had I known it was all CG, I would have skipped it. It wasn't even partially CG like 300. The Imax was sold out so I went to Cinerama. Is it my fat ass, or do the seats at cinerama lean back to far?

I was thinking the PreMuir Wall by Rob Miller and Justen Sjong, but isn't that kind of a variation of the Muir Wall?

Marmot in Bellvue seems to have a lot of liners.

That's just it, I don't think they will get Hilary's vote but the democrats will lean towards a canidate that could appeal towards both parties. Obama is critical of the war, which is good because it gives voters an option to express thier disatisfaction with the war. Even if Obama wins, he will find it incredibly difficult to withdraw from Iraq, that is if he actually attempts to. Hilary can SAY she is against the war, but hasn't make promises to begin troop withdrawal.
-
Democrats are more likely to go with Hilary in the hopes that it will attract disenchanted republicans and swing states. The problem is that the republicans who disagree with Bush's policies will probably support their parties canidate, provided it's not McCain. Rudy is the republican's safest bet.
-
I think the Final Four will be Hilary or Obama (edge Hilary) vs. Mitt or Rudy (edge Rudy). Once the Dems and Republicans pick their canidates it will be easier to tell who will win.

I picked up Rock Warrior's way last week and already have it highlighted like it was a coloring book. Mark Twight's Extreme Alpinism book is bad ass. He has more overall nutirion and workout training information than Gadd's book. Although Gadd's book gets into specific excercises that I put into my repetiore immediately.

Grivel North America Hyalite Ice Breaker

I got those days off work and am pumped for this event. nOOb, that I am, this will be my first time at an ice fest and doing some routes besides Alpental Falls. I asked the BD rep last night at FF if there will be Cobras to demo. He said their first batch of 50 will be ready next week and he is hoping to skim a couple off. Still there should be plenty of Vipers to demo. -
"Waiting", it's only the Office Space of the Food service industry. Or "Don't be a Menace to South Central while drinking your juice in the Hood" so we can understand the harsh realities of living the hood.

Aww come on, it's a perfect excuse to throw on a down jacket.

Hey Crackers, Are you going to bring Cilogear packs for sale or just a few demos? -
That happens to me all the time. I always chalked it up to friction from the belay device, accumulated dirt, etc. It's pretty normal as far as I can tell.

How about those windstopper headbands? Stocking stuffers!!!
