    FYI

Yesterday I was stuck behind a stalled car at a traffic light. Two Lynnwood Cops drove by and did nothing to get the car out of the way that was blocking traffic. I wish there were some scientologists around because they are the only ones who could have helped.
  2. The new 30L is looking good. Estimated date FF will get some?
  3. Better to spray than beat the dead horse on the bolting ethic.
  4. Pick up Joe Josephson's Winter Dance book athttp://www.firstascentpress.com This will have all the beta you need. Most of the climbs are a day's drive away for me, but the photos, and descriptions make the drive more tempting everytime I read it.
  5. Which area are we talking about? Exit 38?
  6. Thanks Klenke, that was the link I was looking for. How about those camera's at stop lights now? I could see those in San Francisco or Portland even some parts of Seattle where there is lots of bicycle traffic, but they are all over Lynnwood. Nobody in Lynnwood rides a bicycle unless it's stolen.
  7. In the words of Dave Atell, tattoos are something that don't belong on your body, but you put it there to say something about yourself. Much like my rolls of fat, it doesn't belong there but I put it on my body to say something about me. "I don't like veggies" But to get back on topic, I am a bean counter, part time student and a part time pet psychic.
  8. When I started in the shipping dept, I got a half sleeve, the lower half of my leg done and stretched my ear lobes big enough to fit a Marb red through them. No problem considering my position, right? Totally appropriate. When I switched to a cubicle job, out came the plugs, khakis and no more sleeveless T's. Nobody asked me to change the way I dress. I just realized that the stigma is still there in some corporate cultures and my development opportunities might be hindered by other's prejudice.
  9. I saw this e-mail circulate months ago. All these have not been put in place yet. Texting became illegal; http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/News/2007/12/26_TextMessagingLaw.htm
  10. I believe AAC members get a discount there too.
  11. So my hike up to Lake Julius got changed to a Hubba Hubba day trip. It creaked and moaned at the base while we were racking up and even more when I got on it. Wet ice again. After knocking thru a plate, better ice was to be found on each swing. The brighter side was effortless foot placements. After the first pitch, the next step was poorly bonded verglas. with the fading daylight, we opted to go down instead of going around it. Lillooet, here I come.
  12. I'm headed to Lake Julius tomorrow. If anything, I will end up burning off the Christmas carbs on the approach.
  13. It's on the top of the back, there is a little Diamond icon that a tube fits thru.

    Best present?

    New Vipers! Thanks Mom!
  15. Any new updates? Judging by how much it has been dumping lately, it seems likely to continue this weekend.
  16. Ha Ha, it's the Spears curse for wearing double denim
  17. Yeah, forgot my scuba gear, but remembered to borrow your daughter's arm floaties. She doesn't swim anymore cause she is sending harder than her armchair alpinist dad.
  18. Went to Pan Dome Falls yesterday. Lots of fresh snow, bring snow shoes or skis!! I kid you not, I was doing a breast stroke to break trail. The ice was wet and very brittle and looked above my skill level to complete so I opted to rap off the tree to the right of the route. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l315/chiatt311/variation.jpg
  19. Last Sat, I was able to get a pitch in on the Unnamed wall next to Rap Wall on Bryant. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l315/chiatt311/PC080175.jpg
  20. That's right, it's that time of the year for countdowns. My favorite is the top 100 classic rock songs countdown, as if the classic rock songs change each year.
  21. Good call Billcoe! If you "debate" the weight, it's worth it. I have to second hafilax on this one. I have a functional Montbell Thermawrap that stuff and clips very nice to my harness but for more serious outings I'll go with DAS Parka. Have the primaloft absorb the moisture worry about more important things like climbing.
  22. "During the first ascent of the Northwest face of the Weisbachhorn in the eastern Aps in 1924 Willo Welzenbach and Fritz Riegle first used (solid) ice pitons as protection. The leader hammered them into the ice and the second chopped them out. Fourteen years later the tubular ice piton was invented (in Germany). In 1960, a Swiss mountain rescue specialist named erich Friedli invented the first ice screw (that was actually twisted into the ice)." - Grivel North America You still want ice pitons? Are you thinking of BD Spectres?
  23. A nut tool can be a deadly weapon in the hands of a spraymaster.
