Lucky, I saw the fusions online yesterday, but they went faster than Tool tickets

Pradagonia's summer sale ends today, they had their lightweight down sweaters at 50% off. Still for the best weight to warmth ratio, WM & FF are the leaders.

The next step in the evolution of drunk dialing....drunk posting. Rejoice!!!

Agreed, it is a great tent that held up for me on Rainer, Baker, & Helens. Although my friend had a pole break in high winds on Rainer on a separate occasion. Still I am keeping mine. Using just the fly & ground cloth is a viable option if bugs aren't a problem.

"If your ass was a Chinese dish, I would have the Poo Poo platter" It actually worked. The problem was that the kind of girl that goes for a line like that wasn't worth messing with.

I ordered a Cilogear 45L pack and will post a review once tested. The BD predator 50L was overkill for me ~5 lbs. I have been using a 32L Sphynx with great results; i.e. I pack less unnecessary crap.

His first CD is hilarious. The best track is America the Augmented. I have been waiting for the his new material.

Thanks John, I passed it on to my buddy who is doing the Fisher Chimney route this weekend.

Last time I was up there was June 3rd. It was still covered in snow, but it was melting everywhere. A lot can change, but I imagine there is still mashed potatoes up there.

It's more like comparing Windows to Mac. I got a metolius rack and wish I had paid extra for the BDs. I got two off the small super cams. Mainly because I would hesitate to place one on the off chance that I would need it further up the pitch. Now I use both. The range is almost equal to a metolius #7 & #8 on the small.

[TR] Mt Baker - Coleman - Deming 2nd Act 6/15/2007
Hendershot replied to jhflying's topic in North Cascades
No doubt a few Noobs got scarred. We did a crevasse rescue z-pulley exercise a week prior on the Easton and it pissed on us. I have never needed to have on 5 layers prior to than. We lost a couple from our Baker trip due to that experience. We headed down around 9:30 am. Of course, visibility improved lower when the snow turned to rain. Our group on the Boulder route slept in till 11:30 and faced far worse conditions going down. Sounds like you dealt with the same BS. -
[TR] Mt Baker - Coleman - Deming 2nd Act 6/15/2007

My team must have been camping right next to you. We were the 7 party (4 tents) that assesed the conditions at 2 am. My head lamp has 3 settings, high , med & low. You know it's bad when the visibility on high is the same as low. Bravo for starting out in the morning. Unfortunately conditions only deteriorated. Some other friends of mine attempted the Boulder route and made the same call. -
Difficult Non-climbing Maneuvers in the Alpine?
Hendershot replied to EWolfe's topic in Climber's Board
Making it through Hwy 20, Hwy 2, Granite Falls without getting a ticket. Leaving excessive overbuilt gear at home, but still carrying essentials. Not spaining an ankle or having aching knees when you do pack to much. -
Wow. You mean you this ax was INTENTIONALLY warped?

I agree with both you guys. He needs a good lawyer to counter the cop's word. There are also a lot of charges he needs to contend with. On the condition that he is found innocent of the criminal cases, he will then have a basis to file a civil suit.

I have just the Thermawrap jacket. The sizes run a little small. I have to put it under my shell rather than over. I usually combine it with a light fleece so I have more layering options depending on the activity level.

Dude!! What else are you parting with? This is some primo gear!!

Do you still have the Hammer? Is it 48 or 53 cm?
-
I have the Camp XLH95 too. I used it on the West ridge of Prusik Peak and was worried about taking a lead fall on it, but rapped off it just fine. Now I use the BD Alpine Bod. The Camp harness was perfect for Shuksan last weekend. I wouldn't use it for anything more than a glaicer harness.

Did you admit guilt? Cops usually ask "Do you know why I stopped you?" to get you to admit it. WA state law allows you to speed to pass someone on a 2 lane highway, but not on a 4 lane. Was it Hwy 2, 20 or I90? I always request a contested hearing and mail my ticket in certified mail with a return receipt. In the envelope, include a discovery request letter. Ask for the officer's sworn statements and records for the speed measuring device. If they don't mail that info to you, then you can move for a dismisal. If they do send you the paperwork, then you can cite mitigating circumstances and try for a reduced fine.

[TR] Twin Peaks (Wallowas) - south ridge 5/26/2007
Hendershot replied to Jamin's topic in Oregon Cascades
Thanks for sharing! My Dad lives in Enterprise and I rarely go out there. This beta is added motivation even if the rock is all rotten. No other rap slings while you were up there? -
Spring Mountain is in the Umatila Forest I believe. I have been to Spring Mountain once. There is a link off of Whitman College's website for it. Next to Wallowa Lake is the Eagle Cap Wilderness. The Eagle Cap area is a great range for backpacking, but I'm not aware of any established routes. There is a ranger station just as you enter Enterprise, but the keep 9-5 hours Mon-Fri.

Is this guy going to have to pay for his own rescue?
-
I was up there last month. $22 bucks for the permit. You have to register online before your intended trip. Then show up at Jack's restaraunt the day of your climb to pick up your permit. Never saw anyone checking for permits the whole weekend.
