Why would I want to farm Ice when I have one of the best palces in the nited states to climb ice in my backyard. I was just curious how it looked.

I think that the type of rock is a big determinent. If it is a crack you know hwat to do, however if it is the sporty climb on dolimite or limstone you can spend a lot of time searching for hold(barring no tick marks or tons of chalk). that has been my expirence in the rockies where you climb in areas with less traffic.

Well when I am ice climbing in hyalite I like the hardshell on certain spots to help keep the water off and the softshell in other spots for felxbilty. Mostly for pure ice climbing.

Has anybody used these? Any comments? They are pretty new but I am thinking of getting some new pants for ice and alpine and these are on the top of my list. Just looking for any input.
