Rudy project makes some glasses that would probably work if you sprung for the mirrored lenses (I think 88 or 90% visible light reduction and reasonable coverage). In Frame Prescriptions Inserts I've got a pair of the Ekynox but haven't tried them on a glacier yet. I'll let you know monday though.

I've known a few people who liked going up out of Bluett Pass (I think? The one between Cle-Elum and L-town). Lot's of backroads up there and I doubt there are many people up there. Don't know about hiking but not very far from the Icicle and Peshastin.
