Is it overkill to make reservations to climb the Emmons route? I'm planning on heading up there in a week or two and wonder if we'll have much trouble getting a permit if we show up Friday afternoon at the White River ranger station.
I went up to Avy Gulch 4 weekends ago, but my Beta is probably too out of date do be useful now.
The Fifth Season had the best weather/conditions report when we went down there. The NF ranger's report was not as good.
