Ha! Forgot about this. In case any of you are still dying of suspense, the blister popped on its own. Well, actually my girlfriend popped it during a heated thumb wrestling match. She decided to cheat, my blister decided to explode all over her and the airplane tray table. She thought she'd knocked over a drink at first, and didn't understand why it was warm. It took a lot for her not to throw up.

Last year there seemed to be a couple of teams at the start who needed an extra person. If all else fails, just show up there and take a gamble. Or call Portland Running Co. to ask if they have any bulletin postings up. Or you can look on Craigslist. These guys need 4 girls and 1 guy. Good luck! I wish I could run again this year, but I'll be in Chile.

No no no, AlpineK. I got the pagebottom first, then went for the pagetop. The pagetop was just the icing on the cake. The real prize is the pagebottom. Sure, I'll get a * next to each TR, but it'll be for the pagebottom/pagetop Cascade Bifecta.

It depends on how much you'll be travelling to the northwest. There are plenty of places around that will rent you AT gear. If you're lugging stuff from home, some airlines will charge you to check your skis, you risk damage, etc. If it's only a couple of times a year, it's probably more worthwhile to rent gear.
