  1. Somebody must know something from last weekend. Isn't this climb super popular?
  2. That cassin cam is probably better off left fixed. Those cams are shiite.
  3. You could totally break that Exit 32 5.5 into 3 10ft pitches
  4. Das Toof has a pretty short approach and meets your other criteria (but not as short as GNS)
  5. Bumpity any more info on pocket glacier???
  6. The comment about practice in foam pits is more a comment on the direction motoX has gone since it started going mainstream. It seems these guys used to go out and seriously push it in old crusty demons videos. Now it is all so choreographed, that for me at least, it has lost any allure. This particular stunt, with the custom ramp, seems a lot more befitting of an evil kneivel style exhibition than any sort of competition. I predict the level of exposure currently witnessed in FMX will be relatively short lived and the sport will soon go the way of many other 1 dimensional "extreme sports".
  7. Sure it is crazy, but the logistics of it make it pretty lame IMO. Seeing him do the same thing off natural sand dune would be infinitely more impressive. Regarding your assesment of reversible vs irreversible commitment, they definitely create different levels of nervousness, however I personally feel more nervous climbing vs dropping cliffs in the snow, largely because the fear is so much more sustained
  8. But still uber-gay. He practices it 100s of times into a foam pit, then has event organizers build a special ramp just for him so he can get a guaranteed win. These guys might as well put on unitards and start practicing their ice dancing. This is a stunt, nothing more.

  12. That is why I suggested the half/twin double rated systems because at least they give two points and there are multiple ones on the market.
  13. I found your chaco and sold it on ebay. I was going to post it here, but there is a no ebay policy.
  14. Aren't there a number of ropes now that ae rated as half/twin? You could assume something like a voigt model (easier than a zenner model and I dont think creep effects have any baring on the calculation) This should give you a first order differential equation. Perhaps you could solve for the constants using some of the current twin/half systems, then see if the solution is valid for the Joker.
  15. He means complete north ridge, rather than starting from the notch. Adds ~4 more 5.8-5.9 pitches, plus some more easy ones. I've only done the upper, but it seems that some folks think the complete is great and others think the upper is better.
  16. Thanks for the TR sounds like a great trip.
  17. oops, meant to send PM
  18. Ahh never mind, that is 30% off of the $312 price of buying them separately.
  19. FYI $275 to $219 is not 30% off. 30% off would be like $190. Still a good deal if you're looking for cams.
  20. You obviously haven't experienced lift line cronyism and other lift line antics. First guy roles into the lift line, yells single, cuts to the front. Then his buddy yells single from the back and cruises up to the front to meet his buddy. I've never been much of a fan of it, but some folks like to do it. Now aggressive lift line movement (boxing out the people next to you whenever two lines merge), I'm all for. Still, I've never seen much territorial conflict at the ski areas, just elite localism. Like at Mt Baker when Air (Care) Bears coach Dean Collins would try and block off natural inbounds jumps so his folks could ride them without anybody else. That guy was an asshole, but all his threats seemed pretty empty and I don't think anyone gave a shit what he wanted.
  21. FYI, Nevermind and WWI stay dry through much of the rainy season, so you can usually get your fix there.
  22. CBS=Alpine Hangdog
  23. While I havent fished in the enchantments, it seems that most of these high alpine fisheries are pretty non-selective. The fish have a short feeding season, and will usually take anything buggy. I usually bring some terresrials (I like ants), some attractor (stimulators), some mosquitos, and in case they arent taking dry flies, maybe some chironomids and woolybuggers. Sorry this response is so generic, but I can't imagine you really needing a specific tactic to be successful.
  24. Glad to hear you are out kurt. Best of luck on a continued recovery.
  25. WE all knew you couldnt stay away
