  1. wow, this would be fun...we should do this! Hilarity would be sure to ensue!!!
  2. hey, you're welcome. seriously, good luck. I think you'd be better off starting off specializing in those areas that you've got personal experience in, and set plans for carrying a bunch of climbing gear aside until you've got someone who could really properly advise you...
  3. countdown to DirtyHarry and Dru downgrading it to Grade I, 5.5...go! Just kidding - nice job; like that first picture!
  4. moved out on Saturday. got tired of tripping over the mysterious bulge in the carpet. oh that and my jackass neighbors.
  5. Carl, you'd be lucky to get Mrs Peacock in the kitchen
  6. col. mustard in the champaign room wearing a jacket on his member?
  7. careful, those 3 letters have been known to spawn discussions that rival the IB thread(s) in terms of tediousness...
  8. I finally figured out what this acronym means...took me long enough. But then again, I'm from Minnesota, where they say "STFU & CYTF" Which can mean anywhere from ten to thirty feet...
  9. nothing against billygoat and fenderfour's opinions, I'd agree with their recommendations in fact......
  10. I second dirty harry's advice. if you don't have someone working there who knows about climbing, you probably shouldn't be selling climbing gear. Do you want to tell customers "I carry 5.10 and grivel because that's what billygoat and fenderfour said on teh internets"?
  11. it's a long slog; I'd go with the heavier-duty boot myself.
  12. Let's get back to the collective answer: WHO THE FUCK CARES!! amen
  13. you mean dinner at hot carls jr of course
  14. I can't tell from your trip report, did you summit? I'd like to just say thanks to mike and wayne for saving us all a lot of hard work, now let's see the pictures!
  15. a friend of mine used to carry her snake on board with her...around her waist in a homemade tubular belt. pretty sure you couldn't do that today though. sorry for the digression...please return to the hott carl discussion and dwayner's hilarious photographic essays, etc
  16. Last I heard, Highway 35 was closed between White River and Parkdale due to the forest fire, so Bulo and Pete's Pile might not be accessible (check here for updates on the road closure). Salmon River Slab, south of Welches, has a handful of bolted routes in the 5.6-5.9 range.
  17. I think freedom of the hills gives a decent overview on the basics of aiding. Once you get your basic sequence down you won't look too much like an idiot...but you might want to practice a little bit before you're up on the bolt ladder with 3 parties sitting below you on bohn street tapping their feet and offering you advice.
  18. I have the yates aiders you're looking at, and I think they're pretty good. You just need one fifi hook, girth hitched to your harness (I have mine on my belay loop)...to be hooked into bolts, biners, your daisy, etc. No need for other hooks if you're doing the pioneer route, 'cause the aid pitch is a bolt ladder. If you want to do some aiding sometime let me know.
  19. funny how Mt Washington is home to those disgusting winged ant creatures and 3 Fingered Jack is where the butterflies hang out. nice job, sounds like a good way to spend your weekend!
  20. 4 more today...all to hot chicks...what's your point? My model good looks brings 'em in! but did you "scoop" them?
