  1. well duh. die-t.
  2. while I do kid a lot (as an admitted loser and nerd), i really did order the book as I'm curious. I'm not so narrow minded as to think I can't learn something new, though I'm not typically one to jump on a fad. more than likely diet isn't the number one concern of people who find plenty time to exercise daily and in general take OK care of themselves. however if that doesn't describe you or you're trying to get to another level.... Since I got the infection in my arm a while back and then broke my leg, I've weighed up to 35lbs more than I did before I got the infection. I have tried an number of things to get back to my fighting weight, and some things have worked for a while and others haven't. The way I look at it is I'm just going to keep trying new things and not give up. I'm actually closer than I have been right now, and I'm just looking something else I can do to get over the point I've been stuck at for a couple months. This is just another piece of information that may or may not work. Its worth a shot. People in these forums should be lucky to call on John as a resource. Sometimes I think he is a nerd too...but so were Bill Gates or Steve Jobs. If applying attention to details with extreme effort is being a nerd, then all I can say is I wish I was one too. John has helped me out on a number of fitness related things. Not all of them worked out, but not his fault...it was mine for "falling off the fitness wagon"...no excuses here. so just being clear...when I say I like it because it is "Frieh approved", I am seriously endorsing it. Now NOLSe approved? Thats another story!
  3. Good for you Melissa! Hey, at least its steak.
  4. thanks. regime. regimen. regiment. all great words of French origin coming from the same root. but regimen it is.
  5. ok since this is Frieh approved, I just ordered the book too. lets do this.
  6. well we could both start with the not stepping on the scale part. next month if that doesn't help we can add whatever other steps the regiment has.
  7. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47836314/ns/local_news-seattle_wa/#.T9uqeytYumA is this a sign of the end of days? i always knew it would be a damn cat that brought it. how many of you down there have it now?
  8. no, but post the links and i'll take a look! we can have a contest.
  9. i just went back and found a spelling/language error in my post. it is now corrected, enjoy.
  10. its true. douche is more of a verb than a noun. but then there is the bag. that bag complicates things. here is a kit, and the bag is right there on the bottom. but what, pray tell, is so bad about it? you could say it was a bag the held a douche nozzle and a douche pump. nothing wrong there.
  11. testing: Rob, don't be an ACTUAL DOUCHE. NOT THE BAG THAT IT IS CONTAINED IN. zing. i think it actually works pretty well. thoughts?
  12. though to be precise, a douche is typically used on any body cavity...so I guess it is gender neutral enough. thoughts?
  13. back to an important question: what is the specific definition to the word "douche bag" that we are referring to? And what specifically makes the bag worse than the actual douche? And a douche its self isn't so bad, its only when it gets used? Also the term seems a little sexist, I would prefer a little more gender neutral idiom.

  21. looks like most make the #5 work. haven't done it myself. http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/594125/page/1 http://www.alpinedave.com/enchantments/dragontail/backbone/backbone.htm etc
  22. if we could get rid of the damn unions, hiring cops and firemen could be as cheap and easy as hiring someone to flip burgers.
  23. the problem is when the simpletons and "average work-a-day joes" read propoganda like this: http://www.businessinsider.com/here-are-the-four-charts-that-explain-what-the-protesters-are-angry-about-2011-10 then they think there is actually money somewhere in the system that could be paying for middle class (and union) benefits. and that someone is actually getting rich in this economy? impossible. how do we sell this to them so that they think it is in their best interest? On one side you had the rich folk who gambled and lost (tanking the economy), and on the other you have unions that don't see the rich people taking a bath so they don't want to either. until someone gives bankruptcy is certain. the owners in this system just needs to do a better job of packaging and selling it to their servants. at least thats how a caveman mind sees the situation.
