  1. How far do you take "No knowledge of the route"? I say stare at it all you want, know the grade, but do not watch anyone climb the line or receive any beta.
  2. Sounds like you are "a finder." I am also a finder. My secret? pick up garbage...lots of it. Remember that #1 friend you lost,.. where is that little wire? or that #4 that your girlfriend got stuck? You will be happy to know that they live in a safe home. I have bootied dozens of cams, wires, carabiners and slings. I am sure many of you have as well. Booty is separated into 3 catagories: 1. Stuck (Abandoned). the best kind, esp. when freshly abandoned. -Don't bother with mank bootie, leave it or throw it away. Bonus points for ugly slings. Pink?... what were they thinking? 2. Lost. second best. habitat? rocky and bushy areas. Wires are the primary ground score, as their modest profile hides them wherever they fall. digging in the bushes is not as cool as plucking from the vine...but whatever. 3.Dropped. The worst... survey the scene, one pitch or more? where did it fall? dirt or rocks? use your better judgement. What is your personal best bootie score?

    Bolt Gun

I wrapped my gloved hands with 2 inch stick-on VELCRO strips. This stuff is 20 feet by 2 inches wide. very sticky, we use it a work. Wrap hands with the "hook" side. Cover palms throughly. ala' tape gloves, but cover the fingers as well... find carpeted wall, stick hands to wall and climb. Good gloves are a must.
  6. The great Alaskan bush company.
  7. "Girl, is that a weave?" Damn! Barbie is looking like a 'HO! My friends, forgive my spelling, I am... publicly educated.
  8. What is the deal with hiding your idenity? Nobody cares who you really are, as we all are addicted together. Put down the bong, open up the curtains, and join the rest of us... up here on the surface.
  9. Any body climbed Kieth's crack? that is the thin flake right next to hips and valleys. like 11b?
  10. Latatudes and attitudes
  11. That's the kink in your neck,.. from the drive! Check it: That's just the numbers, like 3 guys to every girl...like Alaska!
  12. The new rock climbing roadtrip forum. This week: J-tree!
  13. The value of reconnance is priceless. Hold off on buying that lift ticket, new widget or bag of weed and rent an airplane. Be ready, fly with a extra pair of underwear..cause chances are,.. you will shit your pants after seeing 10 "new" projects. A good digital camera is a must.
  14. I feel like I missed something when I play with Terraserver. I should have worked for the Dept. of Defense or CIA...."Sir, our boys have found what appears to be talus, and you know what that means..."
  15. Ladies and Gentlemen, let the bidding begin at $15,000...
  16. I used to live in Calico Basin. One night a fleeting winter snow storm hit the basin, we went for a hike out to the old foundation. We heard the helicopter before we saw it. The chopper was black with no running lights, flying so low that it's shadowy outline blended in with the ground. They flew right at us, banking a big turn over the boulders and it was gone.. You just gotta love that stuff.
  17. Check this out!
  18. It is so hard to see the bolts from space... The spot
  19. Terror of tiny town 4th. best crack in the city.
  20. Crack of doom, best crack in the city.
  21. Great fun, and good rest day exersise. The coolest slackline I walked was the giant mooring lines of the Northland barge that would dock at the cannery I used to work at in Ekuk, Alaska. The tide would go down, and the lines would go tight. slacklining is good for everyone, the Stonemasters used to walk the chains for balance. If you wanted to climb Butterballs, you had to "walk the chain" before you were ready... as the story goes.
  22. Clint Eastwood. I saw The Eiger Sanction and just knew that I wanted to be a assassin. Climbing looked like good assassin training, so I climbed as much as I could. after a while, killing was not the game it used to be, and I retired. ...this was close as George Kennedy is aslo a favorite.
  23. nice!
  24. I have stared at that picture for years, it...haunts me. If you survive the ten foot high brush and prehistoric ferns, pot farmers and the local Sasquach, a most heavenly reward awaits the faithful. ( the bigfoot part is true...)
  25. Mt. Index's brother to the east... May I propose the north face of Mt. Baring. As I have never seen this route, I am talking out my butt. (comments?)
