    8mm rope

Eric is right on. I'd like to add that 8mm ropes also complicate crevasse rescue due to their stretchy nature and ability to dig into the lip more than fatter ropes.
  3. Been up a lot of good routes in these, but they have years of life left. $85 shipped to lower 48. PM me
  4. Same thing at Rambles yesterday afternoon. 2 cars. SO busy...
  5. BUMP. Jacket now $75! A steal! Pants are $40. Buy both and i'll pay for shipping.
  6. I've played with one that a client had for a few days last September. We found the same problems that Ade noted. They are incredibly efficient (anecdotally, since we didn't time it boiling water), but they are more frustrating to use than Jetboils (no ignitor, stove/pot don't lock, etc). We managed to pull the handle off the pot and it took 2 days to get it back on. I think they need to do another revision to fix these simple design flaws.
  7. As of right now, the American Alpine Institute will not be stocking a full run of these. We will be doing them on special order only. Give us a call at 360-671-1570 if you are interested in ordering some.
  8. '96 suby legacy 2.2L, 5 speed. 180k miles. 31MPG freeway w/o box on top. 27mpg with RocketBox on top & studs. sleeps 2 (or 3 in a pinch). '87 Toyota Sunrader RV. 18mpg. sleeps 4. fridge, furnace, stove, toilet, shower, kitchen sink! ok, so it's not AWD, but it is p.i.m.p. w00t.
  9. i was working on a new LD mini-guide before I left the Palouse. let me know if you want it. perhaps i'll put it in Sobo's hands to finish. I'd like to get out there again and get some more routes done. cool place.
  10. hey lewis, give the shop a shout next week after this snow settles out... kurt
  11. Ken, PM "pup_on_the_mountain". he's in Pullman.
  12. I'd also like to add that these drytool quite well. The disconcerting placement feedback that Fromage referred to does become more familiar and comfortable after getting more pitches on them.
  13. frenchman's is looking as fat as it's been in a while. Compare to this photo from 2 years ago...
  14. Yes on both counts Gene. Climbing/skiing for a while, then a career change.
  15. I too have broken 2 of them. One broke in the gray/black where the elastic band connects. The other broke in the main housing, near the on/off button. I had another one that only had 2 of the 3 small LEDs work. I do like the usable light to weight ratio.
  16. how is the snow? good skiing? any look at Chair or da Toof?
  17. I'm looking to get out tomorrow for something alpine. kind of thinking about NY gully or something similar. PM me Kurt
  18. bummer. i meant to tell you not to speed out there. they're not too lenient about speeding.
  19. copper is probably in from what I saw yesterday at the border crossing. Bull River might be good too. Gib Wall is in per LTV or gravsports. Didn't go past Chilco, so no word on that, but it was warm in Spokane...
