Woooo, sorry, I'd love too but I just saw this! I'm at work and heading for the 20 min Stoneworks pump before I go home (its the next block over) whenever I finish. (Might be a while as I keep finding other things to do, like this!) You see how my life is out of control. Yesterday I decieded to head for T Creek today and maybe TR a route or 2 and then hit Meadows for some runs on the way back, now all this crap.......sigh..........I need a snow shovel to clear off the desk, and I have so much stuff backlogged I'm not even working on desk stuff. Johhny, there is boltage! I went 3/8-16 x 5-1/2 and not 6 or 7 like you mentioned as I feared if they were too long it would cause you to run out of threads which only measure 1" long. 30 pcs with nuts and flatwashers doubled. If it really f*ks you up I'll trade them out for whatever will really work so no worries. You're welcome to more of these if you need them just speak up. They really didn't cost too much either, as much as a couple of pitchers of beer at Skamania so I got the $ covered - no worries. Now, let me know how to get them to you. I don't even know where you live ya know.

Distel: I want to thank you for directing us to the link. Some of that stuff is way interesting even for a fat armchair dude like myself. Inspiring even. Thanks! The folks dissing on boulderers remind me of people who adamatly insist that "FORDS ARE BETTER THAN CHEVYS." (or the reverse or some faximile thereof). I thought some of the training stuff was real good. Anyone else see this ? "Finshed with 4 sets of one arm pull ups 2, 3, 3, 3, on each arm with ab work in between sets." Fuck me, I think I pulled a muscle just reading it. Pretty hard. Those one armed pullups he ended with had followed this stuff ....." Trained back at the School for about 1 3/4 hours. Felt quite heavy at the start of the warm up which could be a result of the cement mixing or just not having done anything for 4 days. However started to feel pretty good after about 15 mins and filmed a couple of the problems on the Moon board (problem 15 7b and problem 10 8a). Then did Campus lock offs for about 20mins. I did 8 on each arm with about 1 mins rest in between right and left arm (this equals 1 set) and about 2 mins rest between sets. I am working towards feeling really strong on 1-5-8 before moving on which is starting to happen. As I get stronger on this I will reduce down the amount of rest between reps and sets. When I am feeling really strong and confident even with short rests then I will move on to say 1-5-8.5. Remember, if you are doing something you did before with shorter rests then you have upped the intensity and are getting stronger. Playing around with rest periods is good but don't get hung up on time. Take what you need but not more." The mans an animal, I got tired just reading it, and think I might have pulled a finger tendon or 2 when he got to the 8A part on the moon board, which was before the 1 armed pullups BTW. Sh*t- I gotta go ice now. I gotta start getting to the gym again.

Wow, that site is pretty thick with purity. I mean that in a good way.

did you see sandpounders post on this thread? Moe Zammas Mazamas are a great place to figure out how to be safe. Sounds like you may want to skip the basic class and do the intermediate.

Well the good news is that one of the richest men in the US, who had recently declared bankruptcy in pdx so he could weasel out of debt he assumed for the Rose garden arena, can make more money on all the people who will be running around with official jerseys and other official merchandise. In my ideal world, Seattle wins but Paul Allen loses.

I gotta put this on the top of my lurker file...... BTW, no, and I've never even heard of one for sale, but my brother has one of those 3 wheeled pedicabs that are everywhere in Nepal.

I think you may be sucessful in that endevor! This one would make a great future "biggest sandbag highlight film" anyway. They do to me when someone starts putting those little X's on the end of it or whan it's 5.11X but called 5.9 say if you jumped on it thinking 5.9. I actually had a topo once of the start of a wall describe the first pitch of that wall as 5.9 when it was later rated 5.11 on the next 3 guidebooks. When my pard Bob got on it and took a hang he was fairly disconcerted and concerned. Thought we were not on the route or his skills were poorer than they were. Course that was essentially an A-1 crack on solid granite. Sort of a different story. I don't know if everybody ever will agree with any of yours or anybody elses ratings, maybe because it's always something to talk about. But it's all good ML, just embrace the rad-i-ness of the whole thing you guys pulled off and ignore the chaff that always seems to be drifting around out there - you know, chaff like everything I just typed.

I wonder if they were releated to the Piggs that lived on a farm outside of Paonia. Too much of a coinkidink? She sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to marry one of those Mudds and do that hyphenating thing? Ima Mudd-Pigg? Ima Pigg-Mudd I'm 30 posts into this and nobody remembers the well known radio talk show host "Dick Klinger"? I always thought that he should have done condom ads. Bill

People complain about REI, but if you'd have walked in there and complained: you would have got your money back on the spot no argueing or whinning. 100 percent satisfaction is their goal, and they achieve it ...well, except for selection and a bunch of other things.

All kidding aside, there is like 8 pages on spray how some of those guys have never seen a woman...ever...or something like that. It's not like they all live in the same little hut up on the back-side of the Kenai peninsua either. Sounds like some of those dudes might need to ease up on the training a bit and get a life. Poor Lani must sometimes feel like the only marshmellow star in a bowl of Captain Crunch. I think that's why my wife has all those excuses prepared in advance.... "Oh, can't go....uhhhh, neck hurts" "Oh, can't go....uhhhh, my tv show is on". "Oh, can't go....uhhhh, I gotta prepare for work tomorrow". "Oh, can't go....uhhhh, taking care of the kids". etc etc. She did ask me the night before after I reminded her I was going "Hey, how many times has Tiffany been married now?" I was thinking "about 3 or 4 times less than you I think" but just said, "well, why don't you show up and ask Wayne yourself." -course- then I get............. "Oh Bill, I can't go because....uhhhh....."
-
Well, Lani just gave up the secret! You won it, probably better you keep it away from him so he doesn't hack it up with his tools. ________________________________________________ Do you have pictures of this? It would make a great Trip Report. I'm sure it would get more page views than the PDX dry-tool thread which has like 17,000 right now.

Thats funny. UPDATE: The show went off flawlessly last night to a packed house. I'd like to thank Wayne, Mike, Kellie and all the organizers who put it together or donated stuff for a worthy cause (trying to turn Madrone back into a park/climbing area instead of the gravel pit it's been heading for.) THANKS! Lots of old familiar faces (like I hadn't seen Wayne for probably 20 years) and nice times. Just a note for all you Seattle guys who missed it and thought Mike would choke: Layton did you proud. Wayne, in fact, should have taken a page from Layton as his voice was starting to go south on him: apparently Layton just turned on the machine and fell asleep, but hey I'm not knocking it, it was an amazingly solid 100 percent professional with zoom in and zoom outs/National Geographic pictures kind of prime time style show. Very slick with high production values. My only comment (I was the semi-elderly dude in the back of the room squinting like Hans Moleman), I couldn't see the titles. Make bigger and bolder. So I rate it a 9.99 out of 10.00 anyway cause the pics were way clear. If you get a chance to see this up there in the land of fish and timber don't think it's just Mike with a picture or 2. Definately worth seeing. Interesting that the person(S) who probably needed a rope the most had a signifigant other win it. (US Outdoor donated a rope for a raffle prize). I leave you with that cliff hanger puzzle.

Couloir, long enough to wrap around a sheep twice and be secured to a post?
-
Love to see people working ! John, I got your deck screws and lag bolts covered. Not sure what the webbing will be used for , B and D? I have some older ropes I've retired, might work for tying up the sheep or whatever you have in mind???? Let me know. PM me your lag and deck screw needs, I'll try to rustle the stuff up and hand it off Thurs at the Wayne and Mike slideshow.

UHHHH - Kind of interesting in a Bonzai kitten kind of way. Put Mary in one of these jars IE, obviously a hoax, but strangely sickenly interesting in a twisted way.

I await a reply other than the 1 brave attempt Oly laid out. Could be none of the posters really know and it's all fluff and stuff.?
-
I THINK IT'S RUDE THAT YOU POST THAT NEGATIVE STUFF ABOUT THE LOVELY OLSEN TWINS WHEN THEY ARE CLEARLY IN A "RACOON LOOK ALIKE CONTEST" AND MOST CERTAINLY APPROPRIATELY DRESSED TRYING TO WIN IT. Sorry if I sound a bit pissy. Anyway, we all know that's really Tammy Faye Baker on the left and her daughter.

2 dalis, 2 Durer woodcuts from the 16th century, 3 of the 4 Oregon trail prints (not timberline), 2 large scale pics of my bros and I in Nepal with Everest as a backdrop, 1 each of the Ansel Adams repo poster of 1/2 dome(climbing partner gift), pic of Ama Dablam, Leroy Neimans 100 year Vegas print (loan from bro), The painter of lights Yosemite thing, and a bunch of other horseshit like a Tonka from Nepal. I'm not a collector though, despite having spent too much $ on this crap. You?
