Public attaboy for Tim Olsen. Tim got the Boners call regarding the guidebook they were doing as a fundraiser for Kevin Rausch and within 2 hours of it took down the new info he was just starting to put up on his web site that would have diminished the new Ozone guidebooks value. Moreover, and more importantly, he got behind the project and did the Topo drawings for the book, making multiple trips to get it right. Jeff Thomas said you don't get rich doing guidebooks to start with, but Tim's doing this work for free. Big kudos to Tim. Thanks from us all! I use to work for a Russian and a German Jew. They hired any and all Holocaust survivor that wandered by and was looking for work. It might not be a bad idea to put some in the areas you're planning on climbing if there is Poison Oak there so that you can just rip some of this off and rub before you even head home. Thinking like Ozone, put them in your favorite spot and tell folks of this. It likes damp soil. They only need 10-30 yards of space and an embankment behind them. Generally there is either too many trees around here when there's no folks (forest), or too many people when there's no trees (farms). Not conducive to long range shooting. Or nearly pissing my pants earlier when I cut loose for the freestyling King Swing overhang fall screaming like a school girl on Magic Mountain as I swung out into space like it was a F*ng Disney ride. 30-40' out and around, the rope above already core shotted, wondering if the f*uker would hold as I swung and swung....plenty of time to think...and scream...wheeeeeeeee.....totally and utterly alone. Had it gone wrong, I'd still be swinging in the wind, alone. Sorry dude, can't relate. I thought they had a few other routes up there. Could be wrong, it's been a while.
