Hey look who's back! BTW - the jacket is chosen, so lease feel free to turn this thread into pure Spray!
-
Actually a powder skirt might be OK, as my GF doesn't like to wear bib pants. Like I said in my first post it has to be Gore, due to warranty... Yes, a backpack will get worn with this. Mostly I am looking for jackets that people really liked or disliked, in case there's anything obvious I have not thought of.

kev - I was about to move this to Spray, but then I saw you whining and decided to leave it here. Did it ever occur to you that the moderators are not here 24/7 monitoring every post in realtime - some of them even might be out climbing PNW Climber: Can't tell he's pissing down his leg because it's raining so hard.

Do you hv to spill reelly bady to post your stori hear?

The skiers were too busy getting after it. We don't have to sit around belaying.

It is possible, if the job is done properly to make it very difficult to see where the old bolt was. It may not return the rock to it's pristine original state, but it restores the climb to it's original state. I think that more useful than chopping bolts, is the threat of chopping. If the community upholds that retrobolting will be chopped, then there is less chance that people will waste their time putting in unwanted bolts. Dru has a good point.

Must be 3 layer Gore for warranty replacement... What have you liked, or not liked? This will be used for skiing mostly - weight not too important.
-
So why did you come back? Seriously??
-
Yep double double yep yep I have had as many Nalgenes break (1) as I have had bladders leak, and I have never had a bladder explode. I used to be wary of them.
-
Heheh, so true... we were all sitting around saying, "Where are those guys??? Is anyone sober enough to drive out to the pass to see if their car is still there???"

Excellent w/e had by the 20 or so people who made it out to Mazama this year. Thanks to the cc.com sponsors who made the possible, and to Methow Valley Brewery for coming through at the last minute with an excellent keg. Weather was only so-so this year, and the later than usual timing made for more challenging conditions. I made a good attempt on the Rainy Lk -> Lake Ann, via Horsefly Pass tour along with Dave Parker, Adam, Brian and John, but the snow was a little rotten by the time the crack of 10AM club got up there, so we decided that more fun could be had by playing around in the Frisco Mtn/Lyall Gl area. On Sunday an early start up Kangaroo Couloir with Adam and Dave managed to get us near to the icy top just as it started to snow. Skiing out was fun, and I much enjoyed my new skis on their virgin tour. Then we went back to camp and made a good crack at the keg, which with concerted group effort, we manged to polish off by the time the fire was dying out. Can't wait till next year!! A few highlights of the event: -Seeing old friends, and making new ones. -AlpineK went for a wee climb, first since his accident! -riding my new skis - whetted my appetite for next season. -Billygoat's alder smoked salmon [edit] list of shame: gapertimmy Dru Beck jon schralper [/edit]
