But you think it's time for doofus who can't remember the difference between a shiite or a sunni to be in charge? I'd guess McCain is probably outraged that Russia is invading one of our southern states, and thinks Ossetia is down around Tupelo.
  2. As I understand from the TR posted of her climb the previous week link , the Wenatchee World had it wrong, they were on Backbone not Serpentine. What a sad thing.
  3. I've moved and merged all the replies concerning Andie's terrible accident from this thread to the specific one regarding that incident. LINK Let's leave this one just about the incident with the happier outcome. thanks Off
  4. There's a little stonemaster copyright infringement a couple of minutes in...
  5. Me, too. Do I understand your punctuation correctly? Is that how you look too?
  6. Yeah, I can confirm that Minx = Big Screamer. Sorry, can't tell that story.
  7. Yeah, I think you've got it.
  8. Gunsight, but I don't know which tower. I'm gonna go with East face of South Gunsight?
  9. You guys are so silly, that's not Arch. Archenemy is blonde.
  10. Dude, just go get the cvg fir at Compton down offa first somewhere, best price for that stuff you'll find. If you wanna use my account and pay cash just let me know. Stain is just an ugly time consuming extra step, nothing beats the warm glow of fir with several coats of oil.

  12. May I humbly suggest that this is the best line of the season?
  13. Hey there: I'd suggest you post two separate TR's in their respective categories: Dragontail is in Alpine Lakes and Liberty Bell is in North Cascades. Just for the record, and not any specific reflection on your post, one is better off posting TR's to this site rather than just links to your specific blog. You can use the same text, it's not much more effort to flesh out a TR here, and I'll wager this site will long outlive your personal online diary. To that end, host your climbing pictures here as well, did everyone notice that your account has no limit? Post large and post often! Live forever, post on CC.com.
  14. Hey, wtf is wrong with you people? The obvious answer to "what time is it?" is "It's Howdy Doody Time!" damned drooly tools, the lot 'o ya.

  16. In terms of support, I'm sure the Chelan SAR would appreciate a donation specifically earmarked for the mountain rescue unit. Sounds like an excellent effort by all involved led to a pretty stunning rescue. Bravo to everyone who helped.
  17. "Dude! You're the hand!"
  18. Don't forget to use a scraper in the corners - round sanders don't do inside corners. Good for the very edges next to the baseboard as well. If the floor already has a base shoe at the bottom of the baseboard, remove it and install new stuff. In order to make it easy on yourself, apply the floor finish and pre-finish your base shoe at the same time, install it after the floor finish is done. That way you'll cover up any finish you've slopped onto the bottom of the base. Hardwood or softwood? It matters when you're selecting a finish. Swedish Finish is wicked toxic but very durable, you'll need an organic vapor respirator to even be in the house. Water based polyurethanes are okay, but follow the directions exactly and use a good applicator. My favorite, and the absolute best thing to use on a doug fir floor, is an oil finish. The first two options form a coating, and with a softwood floor dings and dog claws can lead the coating to separate from the wood. an oil finish penetrates the wood rather than coats it, and tends to harden the surface somewhat. Sutherland-Welles makes a great polymerized tung oil, but you'll probably need to mail order it. Oh, and just rent the equipment, most pros won't loan the tools they make their living with to noobs. Edit: doh, now that I read the first post I see it's oak. I still like an oil finish for that though. My floor finisher uses a clay as a grain filler in oak, sure makes for a pretty floor.
  19. Excuse me? Fuck Off? What was it I did to arouse such ire? Unless that's a proposition, but I'm not available.
  20. DH, the terminology in the title is a misnomer. The OP is proposing to replace some old bolts on existing climbs, not "overbolt some new contrived crap" or add bolts to existing routes. Your project sounds like a good one, you've got skillz, when you gonna get on it?
  21. Scott, my but you do have an ugly side, don't you?
  22. I was unimpressed by Mr Rollins pontification, it seems a little out of line. How inconsiderate to be killed and require that 12 SAR folks put themselves at risk. Yes, helmets are a good idea, but of little avail against a watermelon sized rock, and who climbs from that side to descend down to Timberline with all the car shuttle hassle? Those current photos of the spur do look ugly though.
  23. Maybe a few of you could wear this too: for those of you not in the know, it's a Jeankini, and yes, everything you see is one piece of clothing.
  24. It's gonna be fine this evening, I'll be over about 5:30
