  1. Mattp, individuals who sign up for the reserves are often former "Regular Army", but a large number are "weekend warriors". Do you honestly think that people who sign up for the Reserves don't understand that active duty IS A POSSIBILITY? How naive do you think these people are? Seems like you aren't giving these people much credit for understanding the commitment they made.
  2. I got freaked out when they changed the trail to the Lower Wall at Index! Called it a day right there.
  3. Chuck, Vietnam was a different situation, personnel-wise. Those troops were mostly draftees. The current U.S. Army in Iraq is volunteer; this is their job, they have chosen this as their current career. Don't say they are getting screwed until you ask them how they feel about it. Many, I am sure, are glad to be out doing for real what they have been practicing for so many years. I do agree, though, that Iraq is a nasty situation all around.
  4. three if there's ironing to be done. Can't fool me bro' - I know you full capabilites! Don't worry I'll keep in on the 'down low'. Thanks. Now what happened to my can of spray starch?
  5. This isn't always a blanket statement for me. A feel totally comfortable in 5.9 cracks most of the time, but 5.9 face/friction makes me a little nervous, and I hate 5.9 chimneys. So, for me, it depends on the climb as to what I say.
  6. David, check your pm's.
  7. I disagree. I am very straightforward on what I can and cannot do. I don't necessarily "rate" myself, as much as communicate what climbs I have done and felt strong on (when meeting a new partner). If asked, I usually downgrade myself a number, because then I KNOW I'm totally solid if they turn out to be slightly less than desired as a belayer.

    Johny's Gone

Thanks for pissing on the legacy of Johnny Cash, chuck. Don't try and imitate the Master, it just cheapens the greatness.
  9. Sexist. What about hot men's asses??!! There's a hair issue, there, sweetie.

    It is officially

Weird. This shatters several misconceptions I had about you: 1. that you are human, 2. that you weren't conceived in a lab from the spawn of Betty Friedan and Jimmy Hoffa. Well, I guess I learned something.
  11. Yeah, but Jack could never close that deal. Bwahahahaha!!!
  12. I have to agree with about boys and BIG toys or substitute penis enlargements. It may be true that we are lacking funds to fix roads and schools. But wouldn't that be the responsiblity of our state budget and not federal funding. I could be wrong, but someone informed me that federal is to serve and PROTECT the country - not take time or money intervene with state issues. It also seems that our federal government has been trying to take over the state's job as well. I see you are learning, Grasshopper (or at least absorbing the ranting).

    Johny's Gone

We were listening to some Johnny Cash last weekend in Winthrop; man he could sing the ballads. Gonna listen to his live concert at Folsom Prison today. Goodbye, cowboy. Give our regards to June.
  14. Fat??? Necro, ya better get an eye exam! Dunno who she is or what she does, but she sure is a good-lookin milf. Uh, National Security Advisor? Ring any bells genius?
  15. Somebody must, but not this gaper. I don't shop at that wannabe, faggot-ass, poseur store.
  16. yah guy! It also helps to be a crazy-ass Finn from Alaska. Sisu's got sisu, for sure.
  17. It is closed, they must have done the rat creek approach? No, the TR says, "the trail flies by"; there isn't any "flying" up the Rat Creek Drainage from what I've seen. Probably just walked the road past the barriers; I think it adds a mile or two to the walk.
  18. Cllint was a Republican (what else would you be in the city of Pebble Beach) Sonny was too. I was thought clebrities choosing to be Republicans had more to do with a party that was willing to accept anyone they thought had a chance of winning hehehe. I don't know. Reagan was a Democrat for a long time; I think he switched during (or soon after) the Black Listing era in Hollywood. He was President of the Screen Actor's Guild at the time, I believe.
