  1. Cult rocks, too. Love and Rockets. Wore out a New Order tape; they rock. I've got to pull out all my old tapes tonight!! Greg W
  2. "We are the dandy highwaymen..." Adam and the Ants rock!! Greg W
  3. Billy Idol Rocks!! I had the flattop and worked on the sneer in high school. I heard that Billy was in concert recently and looked pretty good. I have a Billy Idol EP with an interview by Martha Quinn of MTV; he is f'ing hilarious!! Hey, the sun's shining, it's a nice day for a white wedding!! Greg W

We didn't call them mullets back then. I guess it was a "sho-lo". Some serious Darrell Hall (Hall & Oates)/David Bowie look.

  8. quote: Originally posted by Attitude: Useful beta: R&D is an interesting 4 pitch climb but routefinding isn't always obvious. Use a 60-m rope and this is easily a 3-pitch climb. Way fun!! Oh yeah, the only route-finding problem I encountered was on the first pitch: go right, then up. After that, the 2nd pitch chimney is pretty obvious; from the top of the chimney, move right and start up some nice handcracks and it's all good from there. 9. The system you describe for solo toproping sounds viable; one I have used myself. The only drawback is that there is no redundancy in the system. Redundancy can be achieved by backtying (as in when jugging fixed lines) or, if you are self-belaying with an ascender, attaching a Prusik above or below your main belay device. Greg W
  10. Reading through the info on the Tiros (see above link), it touts their new AST technology to "better withstand high winds." REI's response is typical large corporation brush off tactics. They don't care about your satisfaction because they have another hundred BMW-driving Bellevue-ite lemmings trotting through the door to buy overpriced trailmix and socks. 14. quote: Originally posted by jon: In general is there any need for 60m doubles?... I think this was mentioned in the thread referenced above, but on alpine climbs the 60m will allow you to stretch out pitches reducing the overall number of pitches, belays, etc. I am sure opinions and/or experiences can, and will, be given for either side of this argument but I think that 60's would be nice and not that much more weight. James; I have observed much flamage on this site, and I must comment that yours is rather week. I presume from this that you may be a high school student (or dropout) with limited imagination and/or vocabulary. It may be that you are one of the American children that has "fallen through the cracks" and didn't receive adequate nourishment at home, or through the school lunch program, during a crucial time in your development. It's okay, James; the world needs ditch diggers, too. If the above is not the case, I must assume that you are just a pathetic loser with little or no imagination beyond what is fed into your brain by marathon Dungeons&Dragons sessions and abuse of over-the-counter medications. Either way, your ability to flame sucks, you cock-gobbling he-bitch. Get off your computer and go back to trying on your sister's clothes. Greg W Can you say, "Whitesnake"? Sure, I knew you could. Did your parents not love you enough or is your avatar a picture of the catholic priest who touched you inappropriately? I don't know Dru, but I have friends who do and he knows his stuff. 24. I was wondering about that storm as I watched it from my porch in Sultan. It never did rain at my house; cool to watch. This raises a question in my mind: Jon, even though rankings change as you accumulate posts, will Scot'BrandName always be a "Chief Wanker"? GNR, Reunion tour:
