Off - I like the political jousting, just mixing it up today.
-
Not to mention the fact that someone else would have to invent a race that Lance Armstrong could dominate for four years running (it is 4, isn't it?).
-
Not sure how it works. I just heard a thing on the radio that the local tv station was doing a story on REI offering singles-only trips/hookups now. Gotta be worse than a Mounty outing, for sure. I like that my wife doesn't climb. It's my time and my thing, and that works for us. Plus, I can embelish and sound more manly when I say I free-soloed Class 4.
-
Try REI, Lord knows they have everything else. Actually, I heard that they do have a singles thing going on.

Would you people get over yourselves already? This is a CLIMBING site; let's talk about CLIMBING.
-
Probably a combination of leaning and handlebar-turning, is my guess. Where do the paniers go for your "Goran-sized" trip, Dru?

Nice scoop Colonel!!!
-
Nice, dude!!!

I like the fact that Jim stocks brands that other stores don't; it provides alternative choices to the BD/Marmot/TNF/Mtn.H'ware stuff out there. I also like his "lightweight" gear tips and analyses.

She's not a superhero? I got the Icegirl action figure on e-bay, complete with cape, gold-plated crampons and icetools.
-
Sure, dude!!! Gotta bring those Seattle PubClub Divas like icegirl, tlg, et al., though.

I'm not offended Mattp. As you know, I enjoy spirited debate. Bummer I missed it; maybe next time.

When I was 10 I told my neighbor friend there was no Santa Claus. He started crying, we started fighting, and I punched him in the nuts. Needless to say, I was in big trouble. The family moved to Pittsburgh 6 months later.

I remember reading about Jim Wickwire's ascent in his book, "Addicted to Danger" and he made it sound like no big deal (relatively speaking). Then I went and read the route description!! Hard core and low-key; definitely impressive.

That and some lube will make a standard weekend for the Trasker.

No, I'm just saying that Trask is going gay. That's all. Just turning into a pole-smoking, cum-chugging, tube-steak eating, Liza Minelli fan with a cd changer full of show tunes.
-
DANGER, DANGER, DANGER: Trask has just turned gay!!
-
Yah, Kurt! I thought of you when I saw that too.

He started it!!!!!

Hey, fuck you dipshit. That is actually what I think of it. I've had the pleasure of knowing several individuals who worked in diplomatic positions for our country and that's what kind of shit (among other stuff) that happens. And I did spend several minutes thinking on it, so fuck off you tool. You wanna start shit? Let's go, byotch.
-
Sounds like a lot of "diplo-speak". Basically, our diplomatic corps is saying "pooh, pooh, on you North Korea; what you did isn't cricket." Not strong language, but I think it carries weight in diplomatic circles.

Put a Jaguar in Neutral and I can pull a V-12. Does that count? -
My greatest fear realized: Sexual Chocolate has become the liberal embodiment of MtnGoat!!! Dude, it all comes down to what you believe the Constitution put into place for the role of a Federal Government and what SHOULD BE under the auspices of the States. You are correct in your assessment of the current tax structure, it is unfair. You are correct that we are all in "this thing called life" together; however, we can coexist successfully through mutual recognition and respect of personal property rights and freedoms without laying unequal burden on certain citizens just because they are successful. Just because we are neighbors in this society does not mean that you are entitled to any of the fruits of my labor. Your view of government, as taken from your own words on what government should do, is more like "government financed by some people, for the benefit of some other people..." I do help my family when it is need. My new mother-in-law will be receiving an ample gift of beef very soon; she isn't in a stellar economic strata and I can help. That is what I mean. If my parents lived nearby and they were in need, I would do the same. My uncle does the same for his parents. I also feed JayB when he climbs with me ; I would love to feed more climbers next summer. Why? Because I CHOOSE to; I am not being coerced to do so. For the record, I never called anyone a lazy welfare mom.

This sounds really, really scary, Dru. How can one justify such a theory of government? Talk about a blank check for the government tax extortionists. Shouldn't we all be doing this on a personal level and not depending on a government bailout? Sorry, this flies in the face of all the libertarian ideals that I believe in. Not to mention that even Congress couldn't justify another afront to the General Welfare Clause as large as this.
