don't think obama needs to be out sporting a shotgun after 4 years of using drones n' dog-knows what else to zap anybody n' everybody on our national shit-list, but okay...

2/2 - day #4 - ground hogz day, a swift demise to deadly winter predicted - 'twas the day after a wander up the hood-wand w/ an interesting feller to dispatch the doldrum of the beacon s side closure - ya never stop learning in the mountains, this time 2 Ore-e-gone Snowboard'nBoyz taught me how to inhale green weeds through green apples using nothing more than a glorious bright winter sun and a magnifying glass - a good invention for the stiff breezes off an open glacier - much thanks for them that rock the Van Damme stone soup w/ geoff today - despite the distinct sense of early spring setting in as the Great Hamster foresaw, it was a mort cold and savage breezy - geoff did p1, and i managed to mangle meself on p2 - found a fixed nut at the start of the eyebrow traverse and was hanging out on it for awhile, had just plugged the next cam in when suddenly i was falling - fell/slid into a slab, instinctively grabbing an edge to stop the fall, sheared off the flesh of my pinky-tip and sprung the sprockets in the other fingers' knuckles, then went heads'o'er'tits and continued on down, getting entangled in the rope running up through the gear and ultimately arresting hanging upside down looking straight at the olde boye, who looked frankly startled blood pouring from the flensed n' flapping finger, i wrapped my balaclava about it n' took stock - had a good gut laugh upon recalling that last time i climbed on this side, last spring, i'd ended up in the e.r. too - maybe i'm just not getting the message? geoff was my hero - not only did he finish the pitch, he also figured out how, after 10 minutes, to get my damn knot untied by pounding on it w/ a jug - the big breeze blew itself out as dejected would-be hiking trail ascenders milled about the parking lot and i howled at the sky in mock musical appreciation - the climb done, we went off, each to his saturday night debaucheries and me to keen my wound w/ wanton drunkenness

i celebrated closure day by climbing hood in spectacular sunny conditions - i'll be out to beacon tomorrow

one might argue that all people are born russian, and some just evolve past it?
-
Where did it all go wrong, Vanya? LOL later i decided i just wanted to be sean connery from indiana jones
-
amusingly, watching that movie that night before i signed up for classes my first year of college was the whole reason i ended up studying russian language and history for the next two years - I wanted to be sean connery (as a russian)

sheeeeit, that dude tried to run for president pretty much on that line only

that makes sense, like most poets i'm broke, and like most barbarians, i'm the one who takes out the trash every tuesday night

and yet stalin is still held in high regard by russians today? the soviet revolution seems a great example of how few revolutions change anything - repressive governmetn was already a hallmark of russian history, and it seems to be something russians, for whatever reason, have contented themselves with. stalin secularized the language and justifications, and used the modern tools at his disposal to carry it all out - i'm not certain peter the great would have been any different - jesus christ, didn't they just throw a couple of chicks in the clink for 20 years for saying mean things about putin and the fucking church? what's changed?
-
guess i'm one of the few - i geniunely could give a shit - reading about climbing is like watching porn - you're usally only taking in a small portion of the whole thing, and so long as it's got titties, it's all good - at any rate, it's hardly something to obsess over, unless you feel like your own sex (climing) life isn't enough to keep you satisifed...

kevbone as "beatard agnew" on bass!

seems logical that the same crowd that brought us the magical domino theory, long since swept into the dustbin of history, might have made the soviet boogey-man out to be a tad worse than he really was - that said, i met a chick once who'd grown up in the ukraine in the 30s and ended up in auschwitz in the 40s, and she hated stalin far more than hitler
-
come climb my bolt ladder w/ me saturday - i'll even let you lead! and bring blackie, as i won't be suprised at all if multiple bird beaks have become, um, unsound geoff's in too, so i'll be sure to have my lawn chair, down-parka, and coffee carafe - if'n you could manage the tobacco and i502 gear, i'd be mighty obliged!

oliver stone said stalinism was cool?

reading "a bridge too far at the moment" - not sure if a book on economics would be best for my bedside
-
i for one, would enjoy the site n' sound of the 'bone hiking to that point above big ledge and serenading the fornicating falcons w/ some romantic tunes on his g'itar in order to get them birdies to the act already so they can piss off lickety-split
